Continuity mistake: When Bond is firing at the armoured car, trying to shoot the lights out, he begins with an FN Browning Model 1910 but then all of a sudden, it turns into a Colt M1911, a pistol about twice the Browning's size. (01:13:05)

Continuity mistake: When shooting at the armored car, Bond tell Honey to get down and her head is below Bond's shoulder. Camera cuts and now it's above his shoulder. (01:13:40)

Revealing mistake: Bond, Quarrel, and Honey are supposed to be walking through a saltwater river and yet none of them seem to react when coming out of the water with their eyes open so obviously it's fresh water used in the river. (01:15:10)

Revealing mistake: When Bond and Honey are made to take showers to clean them of any remaining radioactivity, they are meant to be naked. When Honey gets out of the shower a man holds a towel up for her, but if you look closely you can see that she is wearing a flesh-colored swim suit. (01:16:45)

Plot hole: When the receptionist is showing Bond and Honey their rooms she opens the closet with clothes for Honey and says they just got their sizes the night before. How? Dr. No's people didn't know about Honey at all until she showed up with Bond, and they weren't even seen together until they were found in the swamp just several minutes before. (01:19:50)

Other mistake: After the decontamination chamber scene, Bond and Honey drink a cup of coffee. Honey very quickly passes out due to the tea being laced with some type of sleep inducing drug. However, as Bond throws his cup in anger, Honey flinches very hard. Surprising considering how quickly she passed out after drinking the coffee. (01:20:15)

Continuity mistake: When Dr No, Bond, and Honey are eating dinner, Bond picks up and flexes a table knife. Then there is a wide shot where his hands are under the table. The next tight shot shows him again flexing the knife, then once again goes to the wide angle showing his hands under the table. (01:27:00)

Revealing mistake: When Dr. No crushes the Buddha in his powerful deformed hand, watch when he first touches it. It is made out of rubber. (01:29:00)

????

Continuity mistake: When Dr. No crushes the gold Buddha statue at the dinner table with his hands, it falls off the table onto the floor. However, when a wider camera angle is shown, right before the guard takes Bond to the elevator, the gold statue is back on the table. (01:29:05 - 01:29:50)

Continuity mistake: Following their repast, Dr. No instructs his minions to soften Bond up, which they do with great enthusiasm. When Bond regains consciousness in the cell, his brown Nehru jacket, while a little scuffed, is quite presentable. Shortly after, when he removes it to create protection for his bare hands, his undershirt is ripped severely, and there is a blood stain on it. (01:30:30)

Plot hole: When Bond is escaping through the metal ducts, presumably of Dr No's air-conditioning, he is deluged with torrents of water. He then leaves the pipe work through a metal grille into a passageway - why didn't the water leave the same way? (01:33:05)

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Bond is crawling through the pipes and then descending carefully to a lower level, a strange sound is heard and he begins to slip. As soon as the shot changes before this sound, we can see that it is a stuntman and not Sean Connery. (01:36:00)

Continuity mistake: Near the end when Dr No attacks Bond up on the gantry we see two shots of the radioactivity meter where the red indicator is very close to maximum. The third time we see it just as they tumble off the gantry, it has moved much closer to the danger level. (01:40:00)

Other mistake: At the end, James and Honey jump into a small boat, and after James has dealt with the two men in the boat, Honey deals with the front tender, but no-one deals with the rear tender - we can see it rising out of the water, but somehow it is no longer attached to the boat. (01:43:50)

Trivia: Sean Connery started going bald when he was 21. In 'Dr. No' (he was 32 then) and any subsequent movies in which he has hair, he was actually wearing a hairpiece.

Suggested correction: Contrary to popular belief, Sir Sean Connery was not wearing a hairpiece in his first two outings as James Bond. Although he was already balding by the time Dr. No was in production, he still had a decent amount of hair and the filmmakers used varying techniques to make the most of what was left. By the time of Goldfinger (1964), Connery's hair was too thin and so various toupees were used for his last Bond outings.

Question: This encompasses all the Bond films: which Bond movie is it that, in Q's lab, Q replies to some sarcastic comment of 007's: "It [the gadget] has not been perfected after years of careful research for quite that purpose, 007"?

Answer: In Goldfinger, Q says "It has not been perfected, out of years of patient research, ENTIRELY for that purpose, 007. And incidentally, we'd appreciate its return, along with all your other equipment, INTACT for once, when you return from the field."
