Revealing mistake: When the killer is up in the radio tower, he tries to force the man up the ladder. He brandished a revolver and you can hear the hammer being cocked back. It shows the revolver more and you can see the hammer is still down.

Roger solves the mystery and exposes the killer's identity during the Gork Son of Fire show. Max Applewhite is the killer. He killed the general and the others because years ago they ceased to support Max with his latest invention: television (and they tried to take it away from him). Max takes Penny hostage to the top of a tower. He is shot down by a plane. Roger and Penny get back together.
