Trivia
After Charlie (Morgan Freeman) is attacked at the bar, Claire (Ashley Judd) suggests that he go to the hospital to check on his ribs. In Kiss the Girls (1997), Judd's character suggested the exact same thing to Freeman's. Both times he refused. See more...
Continuity: In the scene at the end where Ashley Judd and Tom are leaving and they are changing from the 4-runner to the other car, Tom opens the car door in one shot and in the next shot you can see him in the background opening it again.
Continuity: Toward the end of the film, Claire confronts Tom about the witnesses' killing, and they begin to fight. Claire smashes a glass on the side of Tom's head, then runs outside. In the next shot, as Tom follows her, he does not have a single cut or drop of blood on him, anywhere.
Continuity: Through the film it is stated more than once that there were 7 witnesses and 5 of them are dead. But in the courtroom scene where Morgan Freeman is questioning the circumstances of their death he says that 2 died in combat, 3 had an accident and 1 was shot during a robbery, a total of 6 dead and if you add Hernandez and Abbot, the two who survived, you come to a total of 8, not 7.
Continuity: 32 or 33 minutes into the film, Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman step out of the military court. Morgan Freeman is messing with his collar with his right hand. The shot changes and both his hands are free. The shot changes again and now we see him already messing with his collar with his left hand. It's not a normal movement or the continuity of the same movement.
Continuity: When Ashley Judd has gone to a junkyard with the man who attacked her, they get out of the car. At one point, she reaches for her purse. The man grabs her and pulls her close to his body. She is looking to her right, over the man's left shoulder. In the next shot, the man is facing the camera and Ashley Judd's head is facing the other direction - over the man's right shoulder and to her left. In the next shot, she is again looking to her right and his left.
Continuity: When Ashley Judd and Jim Caviezel are coming home from court when he gets released, they are riding in the back of Lt. Embry's 4 Runner. The passenger seat headrest has been taken out to provide the shot of their faces. In the next scene, when they are getting into Jackie's car, you can see through the windows of the 4 Runner and the headrest is back in place.
Continuity: When shooting pool, Tom/Ron (Caviezel)has a shot to make the 13 ball off of the 5 ball in the corner pocket. In the first view, the 15 ball is between the cue ball and the 13 ball. When he shoots, the 15 ball has disappeared.
Continuity: While Christmas shopping in Union Square, Ashley Judd and James Caviezel change from carrying zero bags, to six shopping bags, to six bags and a giant red box, all in the span of less than 20 seconds.
Continuity: When the man from the bar makes Claire get out of the car, the tail-lights are left on. While they are talking a security guard drives up and the man runs to get back into the car, but the tail-lights are off.
Continuity: In the hallway after the pre-trial hearing, Charlie Grimes adjusts his tie twice.
Continuity: When Claire is out jogging and is being followed by the pick-up truck - the store she goes to has a prominent "ADT Security" sticker on the door from the exterior shot (looking into the store), but from the shot looking out toward her there is no sign.
