Chicken Run

Continuity mistake: At the first egg count, Mrs. Tweedy goes past Ginger, Mac and the gang twice while going in the same direction.

Continuity mistake: The wrench that was holding the oven open pops out to the left of the door, but it's later seen blocking up a load of wheels to the right of the door.

Continuity mistake: The gravy machine with the carrot in it is facing down when we see it. However, the carrot later pops out and flies sideways, all the way to Ginger and Rocky.

Continuity mistake: During the dance scene, we see the rats rigging up some Christmas lights in the beams of the roof. It seems that more lights appear out of nowhere between shots of the rats in their position on the beams.

Continuity mistake: After getting out of the oven in the machine, Rocky uses a towel to clean himself, but where did he get that? It wasn't there earlier, and it's not his handkerchief as Rocky is wearing it at the same time.

Continuity mistake: Mrs. Tweedy falls from the airplane in an impossible way. She first falls over the farm. Then she falls sideways into a window in the house. She finally lands sticking straight out of the machine.

Continuity mistake: When Ginger is pretending that she had her head cut off, in one shot her red feathers are over her neck, but in the next they're gone.

Continuity mistake: At the very beginning of the movie, Mr. Tweedy goes to take Ginger into solitary confinement at night. Ginger's head changes position (rotates if you will) between shots.

Other mistake: When Ginger finds the bottom of Rocky's poster she takes it out and lines it up with the top half ...and it stays there without any sort of support (we see the back of it as she approaches the poster, and there's nothing there which will stick it).

Plot hole: As Rocky slides down the machine, he falls into the shaft where spinning razors almost kill him. He avoids this fate only by grabbing onto a long metal bar and sliding down a great distance to the part of the machine where the dough for the pies is prepared. He immediately sees that Ginger has arrived there, however given that the long metal bar was not there before Rocky grabbed hold of it, it is inconceivable that Ginger could have made it to the dough section of the machine. It was a direct drop down the shaft towards the spinning razors and the opening leading to the dough was well out of the way.

Other mistake: Mr. Tweedy was kicked up the bum, and later he is shown rubbing Mrs. Tweedy's bootprint. He should have a different mark, because he was kicked, not pushed. In the next scene, the mark has disappeared.

Other mistake: After Nick and Fetcher arrive at Tweedy's Farm for the first time and introduced themselves to Ginger, she hands them a bag of seed, but where did the bag come from? It definitely was not there when Nick and Fetcher are showing Ginger their stuff for sale. (00:11:00)

Fowler: I don't like the look of this one. His eyes are too close together.
Ginger: Fowler, please!
Fowler: And he's a Yank!
Rocky: Easy, pops, cockfighting's illegal where I come from.
Bunty: And where is that exactly?
Rocky: Oh, just a little place I call the land of the free, the home of the brave.
Mac: Scotland!
Rocky: No! America!
Chickens: Ooo...America!
Fowler: Poppycock! Pushy Americans, always showing up late for every war.

Trivia: Chickens don't have teeth, even though every chicken in this film is shown to have a full set. This is because of the traditional Aardman animation to have every single character to have a cheesy grin.

More trivia for Chicken Run

Question: Why didn't Rocky simply tell Ginger at the start that he couldn't fly, instead of dragging everyone through that whole charade. I realise that it was crucial to the plot, but was there any other reason?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Because he wanted them all to have something to look forward to, he didn't want to let them down. Plus Rocky is very bigheaded, it would no doubt be embarrassing for him to admit that he couldn't fly.

THGhost

Answer: The exchange was he would teach them to fly so he could hide out from the circus and he didn't have anything else to offer them.

Answer: Because Rocky is a coward.
