Corrected entry: When Brenda is thrown out the window, Alice immediately runs outside to see Mrs. Voorhees pull up in the jeep. How can this be if she just threw Brenda in the cabin?

Correction: Mrs. Voorhees could have already placed the jeep a short distance away with the lights off. Alice provides enough horror-stricken time for Mrs. Voorhees to have dumped the body through the window then quickly run up the hill, gotten into the jeep, turned on the lights and driven it the short distance as though she were just arriving.

OR...maybe Jason helped her. After all, where was Jason during all this? He should have been grown at this time.

Jason wasn't introduced until the sequel, and he was *dead* in the continuity of the original film. After all, what's the point of avenging him if he's running around with his mother?

Corrected entry: When the truck driver drops off Annie, she starts walking down the road towards Crystal Lake. Yet we see the others in the red pickup drive down that same road and Annie is nowhere to be seen. It just happens to be Mrs Voorhees who picks her up.

Correction: Maybe they were already further along the road when Annie was dropped off at the crossroads, so they never crossed paths with her. Another possibility is that Mrs. Voorhees drove by first. It's a back road in the forest so it makes sense that Annie and the other counsellors never meet.

Correction: Once again your personal opinion.

Personal opinion or not, it's a valid explanation and entirely plausible.

Point is, there are possible explanations, therefore the posted mistake is not correct.

Corrected entry: Assuming that the shells for the shotguns were kept in the locked drawer, why didn't Alice just go ahead and try to break it open? She had the time to do it with Pamela being knocked out so why not go ahead and have the gun loaded just in case?

Correction: If you're referring to when Alice hit Pamela with the frying pan, it probably never occurred to her. She thought she killed her in self defense (there's blood from her ear on the floor when Alice rolls her over), ending her ordeal and was safe even if she was close to being drained mentally, psychologically, and physically. Besides, how would Alice have thought that she'd find the gun again if she went back? She used the gun as a club against Pamela and left it there earlier and ran away, so Pamela might have hidden it. If you're referring to when she first found the gun, Pamela was not knocked out and Alice was panicking, not thinking straight and trying to open the drawer. She knew that Pamela could find her in the office at any second, which she did. The problem with either scenario is using the word 'assuming'. We, and Alice, aren't sure if the bullets were in the drawer, so the only time it would have been worth it to her was when she found the gun. After she thought she killed her, she wouldn't have any need for it, or so she thought, and that would fall under character mistake.

Corrected entry: When the two teenagers find the axe in the bed, the axe is perfectly clean despite the fact it had been shoved through a girl's head. Furthermore, it also looks brand new with a fresh coat of polish on it as well. (00:56:45)

Correction: Mrs Voorhees was a bit of an opportunistic killer, sometimes using whatever was at hand. For example, she used the camp's arrows to kill Jack and Bill. Since they were working on fixing the place up, there may have been many axes at the camp. Steve was using one on a stump when Marcie, Jack, and Ned arrived and since there were a lot of trees around that may need to have been removed he most likely would have had more than one. Mrs Voorhees could have left the axe she used to kill Marcie in her face and then took a brand new one to place in the bed for the other counsellors to find.

Corrected entry: Why didn't the truck driver take Annie all the way to Crystal Lake? He only took her halfway. So she had to walk ten more miles.

Correction: Perhaps he dropped her off there because it was the closest he could get without significantly going out of his way. He was a truck driver that was working and they usually have deadlines for their deliveries, so maybe he took her as close as he could without interfering with his run. In fact, it was the waitress' idea he drop her off there since he was going that way and the crossroads would be the halfway point.

Correction: Maybe he was only going that far because he didn't really want to enter the camp; it was "cursed" after all, so I'm sure he just wanted to stay as far away as possible.

Factual error: After your head is cut off, you wouldn't be able to hold your hands in the air and make fists because your brain controls your ability to do this.

Suggested correction: Not really. There's such a thing as a death twitch. The a chicken's brain controls the ability to run, jump, and flap its wings, but it does just that after its head is cut off. A person could involuntarily clench their fists repeatedly when they've been decapitated.

You're comparing two different animals. The chicken with its head cut off that is still running around is still controlled by the brain. Part of a chicken's brain rests in the neck and when beheaded, it's possible not all of the brain is severed. This is not what happens to a beheaded human. There is a difference between a cadaveric spasm and clenching and unclenching your raised hands.

Corrected entry: When Alice opens the pantry door to find Crazy Ralph in there, you can see Ned and Marcy running to the kitchen. It cuts to Ralph, then back again and the other two run into the kitchen again. (00:28:55)

Correction: This is how they show the action of another character and give the timing. For example : Ned and Marcy run into the kitchen, at that exact moment it shows what's happening with Ralph. When it returns and Ned and Marcy are running into the kitchen, you know what Ralph is doing.

Revealing mistake: When Ned is pretending to drown, Brenda swims out to rescue him. You can see that she and Ned stay underwater for a few seconds, until their cue to emerge. (00:23:30)

Trivia: In the scene where Alice finds Bill's body hanging on the back of the door to the generator room, the producers purposely did not tell Adrianne King what they were going to do to the body nor did they let her see the body beforehand. When she saw the body during filming it was for the first time. The scream she produced was genuine as it scared her badly. Needless to say, that entire scene was shot in one take.

Question: Maybe I've missed the reason, but why is the film called Friday the 13th? I'm sure there is never any reference to that date, so why be titled this?

Hamster

Chosen answer: Just after the credits, there's a bank sign that says "Friday, 13 - 7:01 - 60 Degrees". Then the DJ says "It's 7:01 on Friday the 13th of June." and goes on to say some more about it and lists some other bad luck superstitions. At two other points in the movie, two characters (Ralph and Tierney) say "it's Friday the 13th". So there are at least four references to the fact that the movie takes place on Friday the 13th.

Answer: Sean Cunningham was the one who had an idea for a horror film called "Friday the 13th", because he really felt like it was a can't miss film title. He got with Victor Miller about making a horror film similar to "Halloween" and Miller began writing a script. Miller had titled the first draft "Long Night at Camp Blood", but he admits he's never been good at coming up with titles, so this was just a working title. Cunningham had called Miller and told him he wants to name the film "Friday the 13th" and Miller said "That's great. Unfortunately, there's no reason for that." To which Cunningham replied with "Stick one in." (Which is why there's a few references to the date in the film.) Cunningham was so sure of the film's title that he put an ad in Variety magazine in July before any sort of production of the film had begun.

Answer: Another reason is in the scene where Pamela is talking to Alice she mentions that today was Jason's birthday, Friday the 13th.

Answer: I do not recall any answer, definitive or otherwise, been given to your question. Originally the film was to be called 'Long Night at Camp Blood'. I have no idea why it was changed. Or why the new title was chosen. However the film is set on a Friday the 13th. And it is mentioned as such after the credits when Annie is walking through the town. On the radio, the DJ says as much.

Alan Keddie

Answer: After Barry and Claudette was killed by young Pamela in 1958, it then flashes white to Crystal Lake and words in the bottom saying "Friday June 13 The Present." Present means the year 1979.
