Continuity: When the man at the gas station washes the teenagers van, the floor around the front of the van is totally wet after he finishes. But as the teenagers pull away the area around the front of the van is now dry. Submitted by Hamster
Revealing: The position of the hitch-hiker, in relation to the lorry, as it hits him, changes between shots. Also, the hitch-hiker is an obvious dummy as he is hit; you can see the fake limb attachment on his arm. Submitted by Hamster
Continuity: As the teenagers pull up into the gas station, look at the position of the gas pumps hose and its shadow. In the next shot the gas pumps shadow has vanished and the gas pumps hose is positioned differently. Submitted by Hamster
Continuity: After the hitch-hiker smears blood from his hand all over the side of the teenagers van, in the very next shot as we see the van riding away down the road, the blood has disappeared from the side. Submitted by Hamster

Continuity: When Franklin is rolling down the hill he falls off the wheelchair and it begins to roll. When it cuts the chair is coming down nice and easily on its wheels. Submitted by Mortug
Continuity: In the scene where the dad comes home, Leatherface is wearing a man's face. Then, only a few seconds later when he walks out of the kitchen he is wearing a woman's face, with makeup on it. This occured due to a scene cut out of the movie. It shows Leatherface taking off the man's face and putting on a woman's face and applying makeup to it.
Continuity: After Sally has run back to the service station for refuge from Leatherface, there is a broom by the door, which changes position a couple of times during the scene. Submitted by Hamster
