Question: Spoilers. The end of the movie shows Meg at home, apparently surviving the ordeal. In the final frames, though, we see the eviscerated body of Meg wearing the same clothes she wore in the final fight. How did Meg get zombified? Every other zombie monster had to go through the breach machine to transform, but Meg was still human at the time the machine was destroyed.

After finding the isolated laboratory of a demented scientist deep in the Canadian north woods, Sherriff Hawkins and his ex-girlfriend guide Meg destroy his dimension breaching machine and do battle with scores of homicidal monsters created by exposure to the machine. Meg is the last human alive and is about to be attacked by a monster when the scene changes to Meg at home months later, healthy, and pregnant! She apparently survived, but as the camera pans across the back yard we see a mangled body wearing the clothes Meg had on during the monster attack. Is the dead body Meg? Did the monster transform into a Meg-Imitation? Did the Meg-Imitation bring Meg's body all the way back from the north woods for snacks? We may never know.
