Revealing mistake: After Beloved's ghost throws the dog against the wall its eyeball hangs out. In some shots the dog's real eye is visible too. (00:01:30)

Continuity mistake: When Paul D. arrives at Sethe's house for the first time they sit down on the porch. In all wide shots her two stiff braids are behind her shoulders, in all close-ups they are in front. (00:07:30)

Audio problem: Some time after Paul D. has settled down at Sethe's, she comes home and knocks on the door. Denver calls out "Who's there? Mama? Mama?", and the second time she calls "Mama?" her mouth isn't moving. (00:20:25)

Continuity mistake: At the carnival, the glass of lemonade goes from half drunk to full. (00:32:20)

Factual error: When Beloved wakes up and starts talking to Denver for the first time there's a close-up of her face where her contact lenses are visible. (00:38:40)

Other mistake: When Howard and Buglar return home after years, it's winter and everything is covered with snow, but neither their nor Sethe's breath is cloudy. (01:54:35)

Continuity mistake: When Paul D. returns to Sethe at the end of the movie she lies in her bed too weak to move, but between shots her head changes from leaning to the right to leaning to the left. (02:31:10)

Continuity mistake: There's a part in the movie where Sethe is talking to another character on the steps when he first arrives. Her hair moves back and forth over her shoulders in various shots.
