7.4/10.Not the mess I expected. It could've been a little sharper still it had an interesting premise. It wasn't the pits like the MCU Spider-Man movies with their SJW moments. Here Miles Morales is learning the mantle of Spider-Man with help of Peter Parker from another universe, pretty good idea.I commend the filmmakers for sticking to an idea and seeing it through. One thing they did I thoroughly liked was Gwen Stacy, Here she's a more developed and interesting character.I liked her as Spider-Gwen, the best use of her ever in any of the Spider-Man media.Yes I also liked Spider-Ham.I only wish they'd had Spider-Man 2099 and Ben Reilly Spider-Man in there.Otherwise it's a pretty solid movie.

This film was just okay. It's not the absolute dumpster fire that the "Amazing Spider-Man" movies are, but it doesn't stand up to the first two Sam Raimi films or the MCU films, either. The premise is interesting enough, but the other Spider-Man characters are barely developed and therefore not very interesting. The design on the Kingpin is also completely ridiculous, to the point where he was annoying to even look at.

Question: Shouldn't Peter's spider sense work when he meets Dr Octopus?

Rob245

Answer: She wasn't a danger to him in the moment they met. The Doc Oc from his universe was likely still the male version we all know and his senses were attuned to recognize him. At the moment they met and she started geeking out over him, she wasn't immediately trying to harm or threaten him so his senses had no reason to be triggered by a strange woman who, at that moment, seemed normal.
