Captain Marvel

On the Kree homeworld of Hala, Vers, an elite warrior of the Starforce, is plagued by recurring memories of a past life she doesn't fully remember. She is mentored by Yon-Rogg, the leader of her team, and together they work to defeat the shape-shifting Skrull alien race, who are their sworn enemies.

During a mission, Vers is captured by Skrull leader Talos, who tries to probe her memories for information. However, during the process, memories from her past are revealed. She manages to escape the Skrull ship and crash-lands on Earth in 1995, right in the middle of a Blockbuster Video store.

On Earth, Vers encounters S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury and convinces him she is a Kree warrior on a mission. Together, they join forces to fend off the Skrulls who have followed her to Earth. As they investigate her mysterious past, Vers learns that her real name is Carol Danvers, a talented Air Force pilot who disappeared six years ago during a test flight and was presumed dead.

Carol and Fury travel to a U.S. Air Force base where she used to work. They meet her former best friend, Maria, who is now a pilot with a young daughter named Monica. They discover that Carol was involved in a secret project conducted by Dr. Wendy Lawson, a scientist who was working on a light-speed engine. Lawson's ship had crashed, and Carol had gained her powers as a result of exposure to the engine's energy core.

Talos and his Skrull soldiers attack the base in search of the engine, but Carol, Fury, Maria, and Monica manage to escape to Maria's house. There, Carol finds a hidden cache of clues left by Lawson, revealing that she was actually a Kree scientist working undercover to help the Skrulls find a new home. The Kree commander, Yon-Rogg, had been pursuing her.

Realizing that the Kree's enemy is not the Skrulls but their own oppressive regime, Carol decides to stop the Kree's plans to weaponize the light-speed engine. She and Fury contact S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson to retrieve a hidden experimental aircraft, and together they head to a secret Kree base orbiting Earth.

Once on the base, Carol confronts Yon-Rogg, who tries to manipulate her, but she sees through his deception. It is revealed that her powers, far from being a limitation, were meant to be harnessed as a weapon by the Kree. Carol overcomes her self-doubt and unleashes her full strength, overpowering Yon-Rogg and realizing her true potential.

Carol destroys the Kree base, freeing the Skrulls and revealing the Kree's true intentions. She then returns to Earth to help the Skrulls find a new home, utilizing Monica's knowledge of the planet. Yon-Rogg, having survived the destruction of the base, tracks Carol down and attempts to kill her, but she easily defeats him and warns him to leave her and Earth alone.

As Carol prepares to leave Earth and resume her mission to help other worlds, she revisits Maria and Monica, saying emotional goodbyes. She accepts her new identity as "Captain Marvel" and heads into space to use her powers and newfound knowledge to protect the galaxy. A post-credit scene shows Avengers co-founder Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Black Widow, who have been analyzing the pager Fury had used to call for help before disintegrating after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. They speculate on its purpose before Carol suddenly appears, demanding to know where Fury is.

Factual error: Carol Danvers' name appears on her dog tags as "Carol Danvers," but US military dog tags list the surname first, then given name. E.g. "Danvers, Carol."
