Factual error: The German fighters depicted in the film are Messerchmitt Bf 109 G-6s, and every single one of them is using the Rüstsatz VI gun pod, that is, 2 extra 20mm Mg 151 cannons. The Luftwaffe only equipped their Bf 109s with the gun pods when they were going to intercept bombers. In this movie, even on the fighter vs fighter missions, they have these gun pods, which is inaccurate, because the gun pods dramatically reduced the turning performance of the Bf 109s.
Factual error: In the movie, when the elevator ("the fall") reaches the middle of the planet, everything turns weightless. In reality, everything should have turned weightless as soon as the elevator was dropped, given they're in freefall.

Factual error: After Captain Dubois escapes from jail, she looks up missing lion on a computer and finds a news page with Alex on saying "FAMOUS CENTRAL PARK ZOO LION MISSING" and hits the Print Screen button on the computer and the news page prints. However, pushing the Print Screen button wouldn't print a document. It would just take a copy of the screen. No matter how much you push the Print Screen button, the page wouldn't print off. Unfortunately, in 1868, the 7th was otherwise employed in Kansas and Indian Territory forcing the Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Comanche tribes back on their reservations.
Factual error: On the isolated island, the meerkats stood up and see Richard Parker and then Richard happily eats some of them while the others watch. Meerkats would run away when they sense, hear or see a nearby predator.
Suggested correction: The reason for this is explained in the book. It's because the island is so peaceful they have no reason to fear predators.
