Updated recently Continuity: When the villains get the last of the plutonium out of the cache, we see one villain shoot the chain suspending a concrete cap; causing it to fall and close the whole. A short time later, we see Maggie exclaim that the plutonium is gone. The cap could not have been lifted because all the miners were taken away, yet the cap is gone and we can see into the cache.

Updated recently Continuity: When the shootout starts in the airport, the Expendables shoot some bad guys and duck behind a service kiosk. We see Chuck Norris shoot one villain from the second floor behind and above the Expendables. Moments later, when the Expendables advance into the airport, they shoot several bad guys that are on the same level Chuck Norris should be on. Chuck Norris apparently disappeared.

Factual error: As the guys zipline down the electric cables, they continue past every pylon without a problem. Cables are connected to pylons, so the connections to the zipline couldn't move past pylons freely.

Plot hole: The seaplane should have a watertight hull so the two jumping out the bottom makes no sense when they should of used the same exit at the rear of the plane that they loaded the jet skies with.

Revealing: When the plane goes through the smoke at the start, the smoke doesn't react in any way - it keeps rising. Surely the wind from the plane would make the smoke drift a different way.

Continuity: Just after Jet Li jumps out of the hatch at the start, we see the other guy taking a drink from his hip flask and you can tell the hatch is still open by the wind blowing his hair. Camera shows the outside of the plane and the hatch is closed.

Character mistake: In the bar scene, Gunner asks Barney Ross for a pen to write an equation on the piece of tissue. He said that the equation was Einstein's theory of special relativity, but it's actually Einstein's equation for general relativity.
