When the two henchmen who break into Nick's loft to kill Lisa are captured, the case is closed. But the two thugs were reporting back to a boss who wasn't caught, and who surely would have sent more hitmen after Lisa. So the case shouldn't have been closed. See more...

I Will Repay (series 1)

Entry The piano piece Nick plays in this episode was composed and performed by Geraint Wyn Davies. He wrote it for his children, as an elegy to a pet bird that had died.

Curiouser & Curiouser (series 2)

Entry All the sets in the dream sequence, particularly Nick's loft, are filled with props referencing Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland books. They include white rabbits, flamingos, walruses, a squeaky-toy caterpillar - even a half-eaten piece of cake in Nick's fridge. The episode also has several background extras in Wonderland-style costumes, and numerous other references to the books, such as Nick literally falling through the looking glass at the end.

Queen of Harps (series 2)

Entry As Nick and Schanke are leaving the station, Nick turns back to give a handcuffed suspect being wrestled in the door by a cop a "where have I seen that guy before?" look. This was an in-joke: the collared criminal was series star Geraint Wyn Davies' brother.

Blood Money (series 2)

Entry Series soundtrack composer Fred Mollin appears behind Nick and Janette in a nightclub scene here, but didn't know he'd been set up for a practical joke when a sparsely clad female extra began passionately kissing him. The kiss became so personal, in fact, that it had to be removed from the final cut. Fred & friend are still in the scene, albeit sans kiss.

Can't Run, Can't Hide (series 2)

Entry Casey's framed certificate says that he won the "Borchiver Award for outstanding service with disadvantaged children." The name is a nod to series producer Richard Borchiver.

The Human Factor (series 3)

Entry Patrick is played by series star Geraint Wyn Davies' son, Galen Wyn Davies.
Entry The car blown up in the alley was Geraint Wyn Davies' own, an old one he wanted very much to get rid of. So when given the chance to direct this episode, he decided to give the car a fiery TV send-off.
