Continuity mistake: When Ed is leaving he puts his coat on top of the box. He picks up the box with both hands by the handles, then changes how he is holding it by having one arm around the box. The shot changes and he is now holding the box by the handles again.

Continuity mistake: When Dave and Beth are in Dave's office talking about what happened between him and Lisa, there is a coffee mug on Dave's desk. The handle is pointed at the camera. When Dave picks up the mug, the handle is now pointing away from the camera. It changes positions other times too.

Big Day - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: Bill is in the booth on the phone after Dave hangs up on him, and Bill is mad about the person eating at his desk. Catherine who is also in the booth is seen talking on the radio, and the ON AIR sign is on, then a couple of seconds later she is no longer talking and the ON AIR sign is off.

Continuity mistake: Bill takes the ON AIR sign off the wall and shows it to Dave he then puts it on a shelf of tapes. Dave leaves and the ON AIR sign is back on the wall.

Character mistake: When talking about poker Jimmy asks Dave "What are the chances of getting five of a kind of the same suit?" The most you can get is four of a kind and they would be all different suits.

Suggested correction: Jimmy says "in the same suit" which is slightly different than "of the same suit." It was just a weird way of saying the odds of getting a flush. Lisa replies with 504.8 (the odds of getting a flush). In poker lingo, 3 or 4 of a kind is taken to mean same value since 3 or 4 cards in the same suit isn't anything.

Trivia: In this episode, Matthew becomes obsessed with the comic strip "Dilbert." At the end, Dave has an actor friend pretend to be Scott Adams, creator of "Dilbert", to get Matthew to quit the job at the coffee shop. The real Scott Adams appeared in the beginning of the show, in line at the coffee shop where Matthew first discovers "Dilbert."
