Correction: This is very intentional. Ace is obviously standing on a ledge the whole time, but he plays that he is in a spy thriller, and has to follow the clichés. One of these is to give the audience a scare by having the hero hanging on to something by one hand and almost slip off. It is just Aces childish fantasy at work here, nothing more.
