Continuity mistake: In "Disorder In The Court" (1936), Curly is on the witness stand in a courtroom. When he tips his chair and falls backwards, a stunt double is used. The double's hair is much darker. When Moe and Larry rush over to pick him up, he is facing the wall. In the close-up, Curly is now facing forward. (00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: "Rusty Romeos," a 1957 short co-starring Joe Besser, is a remake of "Corny Casanovas," a 1952 short co-starring Shemp Howard. In a scene using stock footage from the earlier film, Moe and Larry are fighting, and a framed photo of Shemp is on a small table next to the couch. In the following scene, using new footage, the photo is of Joe. (00:15:10)

Other mistake: In "Violent Is The Word For Curly" (1938), the Stooges are mistaken for college professors. They are teaching a group of students at the all-girls school Mildew College to sing "Swingin' The Alphabet." During the song, the girls sing "Curly's a dope." The dean had introduced the three men as Professors Feinstein, Frankfurter and VonStupor - so how did the girls know Curly's name?

Other mistake: In "An Ache In Every Stake" (1941), when Moe and Larry fall out of their ice wagon and land in the street, it is obvious that stunt doubles were used. When the scene cuts from the doubles to the real Moe and Larry, Moe's legs are in a different position.

Continuity mistake: In "Self-Made Maids," Moe, Larry and Shemp play dual roles, appearing as artists and as three models, Moella, Larryella and Shempella. In one scene, Larryella squeezes Shemp's hand while he's holding a tube of black paint. The paint squirts only on his face but in the next shot there are also paint spatters on his smock. When he returns to his easel, the paint on his face and smock has disappeared.

Stupidity: In "Studio Stoops," one mobster ties Larry to a bed and another mobster ties Moe to a chair. The second mobster says, "Boss, why don't you let me plug 'em?" The other replies, "It would make too much noise. Wait till we get 'em outside." If that is the plan, then why tie up Moe and Larry indoors?
