Deliberate mistake: If Fogg and company are well on their way around the world, how on earth did Inspector Fix beat them to India?

Sol Parker

Continuity mistake: The first time we see Jon pull his Volvo into his driveway, he parks it kinda crooked, the next time we see it, it is parked straight.

Continuity mistake: When Odie first starts to dance at the dog show, Jon stands up, but if you look in the background while Odie is dancing, Jon is sitting down, then a couple of shots later we see him finally sit down.

Van Wilder (2002)

Factual error: After Van unplugs the power from the phone, it rings one more time, remember, it's a cordless phone. (01:10:05)

Revealing mistake: This concerns the criminal to Jesus' left on the cross. If you pay close attention to the criminal's right hand, you can tell that the part of his hand that is nailed (past the area of the thumb) is obviously not his. When he moves around this part doesn't, and his wrist moves independently from the rest of his hand. Difficult to explain, but it is there.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Tangent - S4-E12

Revealing mistake: When Jack and Teal'c are first shown in the fighter when it first enters space, if you pay attention to the stars in the background, they tend to move in a rather jerking fashion.

Continuity mistake: When Frodo is lying in bed at the end, in one shot only for a second, right when he begins to sit up, you can see Frodo's undamaged finger folded up and wrapped in white.

Goldfinger (1964)

Factual error: The girl is killed by having paint all over her body, supposedly suffocating her. While a widely believed theory at the time, it is not actually true that you can be suffocated by cutting off air to the skin - as long as you are still breathing, you won't suffocate. The only way damage might be caused is that by being unable to sweat/cool, you might get heatstroke, alternatively the toxic elements of the paint might prove fatal, but both of those effects would take far longer to kill you. Orpheus - S7-E4

Visible crew/equipment: When Daniel is talking to Teal'c and the other Jaffa, at one point we can see a light reflecting screen reflected in Daniel's glasses, we can even see the silhouette of someone's arm and body in front of the screen. (00:20:05)

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl mistake picture

Revealing mistake: The clasp closure on the medallion's chain is NOT the sort that just comes apart when yanked on, evident in the many close-ups of the clasp throughout the film. Yet there are a number of scenes in which the chain is just pulled and it comes off easily: Elizabeth pulls it off aboard the Pearl, to barter with; Barbossa pulls it off, during her blood ritual; Elizabeth pulls it off to give to Will, aboard the Interceptor... The chain was secured to her neck with sellotape, in order for it to come off quickly for the shots. (01:12:15 - 01:19:28)

Cats & Dogs (2001)

Continuity mistake: The lawn goes from established grass to freshly laid sod back to established grass. In the daylight scenes you can tell that the grass is growing, probably 4 inches tall, not mowed recently. During one of the night scenes about half way through the movie, you can see that the grass is kind of sickly looking and you can also see the lines around the strips of sod. The next day while the kid is doing his soccer stuff, the grass is back to green and uncut.

Little Nicky (2000)

Continuity mistake: When Nicky is playing basketball with his brother, they both move around between the shots, first Nicky is over the half court line, then back, then his brother is inside the three point line, then more towards the middle. It happens several times with both of them.

Question: Gandalf says "three hundred of the lives of men.... etc." does he mean he is that old? I have not read the book, but plan to.

Sol Parker

Chosen answer: "Three hundred lives of Men I've walked this earth, and, now, I have no time." That is an implication of his age. This isn't, though, referring to how long he's been walking the earth as the wizard Gandalf. From the book: "Olorin I was in the days of my youth in the West", Gandalf came to Middle-Earth about a thousand years into the third age, yet he was a Maia, and is much older. He has only been in human form for about 2000 years.

Bulletproof Monk (2003)

Continuity mistake: When the monk is first teaching Kar to fight, the monk has Kar in a hold where Kar's arm is on the monk's shoulder, in the back and forth shots, Kar is holding the monk's shoulder and has his hand stretched out over the monk's shoulder. (00:53:00)

Revealing mistake: When Kar is fighting the bad guy on the roof, the guy holds him up by the throat supposedly choking him, but if you look closely, you can see that he is holding Kar under the chin, not choking him. (00:58:00)
