Continuity mistake: When Mitch puts the mirror up against the front door the rug in front of it becomes bunched up. Mitch never touches it but later it's been set straight again. (01:43:30)

Continuity mistake: When Melanie walks over to see the gas station attendant attacked, the green drape is flush with the side of the window. No one touched it but a few shots later it's been pulled out about six inches from the side of the window. (01:24:30)

Continuity mistake: The second shot of the background of the school and the children running down the hill is superimposed behind the five live action children in the front. Watch the boy to the right in the red sweater very closely because in the next shot he doesn't change but the five children in the front do. (01:13:40)

Continuity mistake: After Mitch closes the shutter, he sits Lydia down in the green chair. She then grabs his arm and leans forward with Cathy's arm around her back. In the next shot she's grabbing at his arm with her back against the chair. (01:43:00)

Continuity mistake: As Annie goes across the room to get an ashtray, you can see that the next room is pitch black. In a previous shot when she went to get the brandy it was lit up and she never touched a light switch. (00:44:10)

Continuity mistake: After Mitch bandages his hand he looks at the front door. As the birds peck at it look closely at that top right quarter as a hole appears between shots. (01:43:20)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie walks into the elevator to go up to Mitch's apartment, we never see the shadow of the door close as we see in the next shot when it opens. (00:09:40)

Continuity mistake: Mitch holds the bottle of peroxide differently between shots. The first time he holds it close to her face with his middle finger awkwardly sticking out. In the next shot all of his fingers are wrapped around the bottle. (00:27:30)

Continuity mistake: When Annie turns to look at Lydia coming out of the house there are no shadows against the side of the house where the door is. In the next shot there's a shadow of a balloon there and the shadows on the back wall are spaced closer together. (00:51:50)

Continuity mistake: As Mitch holds his binoculars in order to see Melanie, the left strap comes down in the middle of the palm of his hand. We know he hasn't put the binoculars down but in the next shot he's holding them differently with the strap moved over two inches closer to his sweater's sleeve. (00:24:15)

Continuity mistake: When Lydia first looks into Mr. Faucet's room she sees a dead bird smashed up against his window. If you look at the drawing of the backdrop outside the window it's a bright sunshiny day but when Lydia was just outside, and again when she leaves, the sky was overcast. (01:00:20)

Continuity mistake: The aerial shot of the fire is wrong. The two cars parked across from the exploding orange car are green on the left and white on the right. In the aerial shot they're both black. (01:25:45)

Continuity mistake: In the first shot of Annie's body lying on the steps there's an orange chair on the porch pushed up under the window on the right. At first the top of the chair is below the bottom sill of the window but in the next shot it's been moved and the top of it is now above the sill. (01:30:20)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie writes her address for the cashier, the two stacks of magazines to the left of the cash register have been pushed together and rearranged without being touched. (00:03:30)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Mitch catches the yellow bird under his hat take a good look at the injury (subungual hematoma) he has under his left thumb nail. It takes weeks for these to go away, but Mitch's is gone when we see his left thumb again as he holds Melanie in the kitchen. (01:02:15)

Continuity mistake: The shadow of the statue on the right of the piano changes between shots. When we first see it in this scene the shadow falls right in the center of the picture of father then as they all sit waiting for the attack the shadow falls on the right side of the picture. (01:40:25)

Continuity mistake: After Melanie says, "Oh Mitch," during the attack, they have a close-up of the knuckles of her left hand. The first time we see them they're scraped and bloody but the second time it's the palm and wrist and not the knuckles that are bloody. (01:48:50)

Continuity mistake: In the last bird attack Lydia and Cathy run past the drapes behind the dining the room table and they're hanging straight down to the floor. Before when we saw Mitch and Lydia sitting the drapes were crooked. (01:41:20)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie and Mitch get ready to leave the restaurant for Annie's the hat and coat on the coat rack cast a very dark shadow against the wall. When we saw this spot before there was only of very light shadow against the wall. (01:29:10)

Continuity mistake: As they await the last bird attack Lydia cleans off the coffee table and comes back and sits in the chair next to the piano. Her head looks left and then right between shots. (01:39:20)
