Other mistake: Sgt. Carter is a Gunnery Sgt. yet the show just calls him sgt. The proper address would be "Gunnery Sgt." or "Gunny".

Suggested correction: In the Marine Corps, a Gunnery Sgt. may be referred to as Sgt, Gunnery Sgt, or Gunny. All Sgt's. are just that, Sgt's. Thus, a Staff Sgt, Gunnery Sgt, Master Sgt, Sgt. Major etc, may all be called Sgt's. Though Master Sgt's and Sgt. Majors are often referred to as "Top" and Sgt. Major.
Well, while it is technically correct that an E-5 - E-9 are all types of sergeant, and MIGHT be referred to as Sergeant, it would be really disrespectful to call a GySgt "Sergeant" all the time.
