The Forgiven

Continuity mistake: David's [Ralph Fiennes] glass on the table is filled to within about 1" from the top. When he raises the glass to his mouth, the amount is about 1" lower, which may explain why the lemon slice is now floating diagonally instead of vertically. (00:01:36)

Deliberate mistake: David and Jo, each wearing sunglasses, are riding in the boat. When David says, "L'Afrique", buildings along the upcoming shore are reflected in his sunglasses. The camera shifts to Jo, also facing the shore, and buildings with more lights are reflected in her sunglasses. The camera then shifts to a rear view of David and Jo and it is obvious that what was reflected in their sunglasses was not possible. (00:01:40)

Other mistake: Right before the "Y" in the road, it could be seen that Richard's speedometer was pointing to the far left, indicating that he was driving at a low speed, such as 5 - 10 MPH. When Richard was looking at the damage to the car, he said, "Smashed headlights, smashed bumper. Must have been going at a fair clip." The damage to the car, as well as Driss' death from the impact, seem severe at such a low speed. (00:07:40 - 00:16:09)

Trivia: Although Driss apparently stepped out in front of David's car and got killed (in the desert), it is ironic that "Moroccan drivers don't give way to pedestrians" [according to Mowgli-Adventures.com, "Driving in Morocco", Nov. 5, 2021]. (00:07:44)

Trivia: Leila, talking to Tom about Driss being hit and killed by David's car, said, "I heard one of the boys saying his legs were pulped. The dead man. They didn't just hit him. They ran over him. Maybe more than once. What do you call it in your country? They have a word for it?" Tom, probably being facetious, replied, "Roadkill." "Roadkill" typically only refers to animals. (00:24:29)
