Continuity mistake: When Tool and Christmas having the knife throwing contest, Christmas's knife lands off the board. When he collects it, it is now just on the edge of the board. (00:17:00)
Continuity mistake: When Tool is finishing Barney's tattoo, he has to do the "able" of Expendable. We see him do part of the A, Christmas arrives and it's suddenly finished as shown by Barney looking in the mirror. (00:15:20)

Character mistake: When Caesar is showing off his razor, the name is misspelled "Ceasar". (01:07:20)
Other mistake: In the opening scene on the freighter, the laser beams track the hand movements of the pirate. First, it is much faster and more precise than what would be possible. Second, why would the SWAT team aim at the pirate's fist, just because he was acting tough?
Continuity mistake: When Stallone is hanging in the door of the seaplane, in the closeups there is water spray all around him, but in the wide shots of the plane, the water spray does not reach the door.
Character mistake: Tool neglects to dress Barney's tattoo after he completes it. Not something a professional tattoo artist would neglect to do, especially when he is tattooing a friend.
Suggested correction: Tool states that it's taken him several months to do the logo tattoo. It's also implied that he has done the rest of Barney's tattoo's. Barney, being the tough man he is, could have simply said in the past not to bother with dressing it and Tool has done as told against his better judgement.
Revealing mistake: When Lee meets up with Lacy's boyfriend, Paul throws his basketball away just before Lee punches him for the first time. However, when Paul actually flies backwards, Lee's fist is nowhere to be seen. (00:49:05)
