Ian Fleming wanted his cousin Christopher Lee to play "Dr. No". Due to other projects, Lee had to turn the role down, but was later cast as "Scaramanga" in "The Man With The Golden Gun". Continuity: Bond was picked up at the airport in a 1957 Chevy, but when the speedometer is shown it is a 1957 Ford instrument panel.

Continuity: When professor Dent throws the gun down it lands on the edge of the bed cover - almost on the floor, but in the next clip it is in the middle of the bed cover.

Continuity: When the freelance photographer is sitting down with Bond, the strap is around her neck, after the cut to a close up of her, the strap is gone. Then they show Bond take the strap off her neck.

Visible crew/equipment: The camera's shadow is visible on the ground as the car goes off the cliff in the car chase when Bond is headed to Miss Taro's house.

Visible crew/equipment: When Strangeways is killed by the three blind men, as well as a visible spotlight reflected in the windows of the hearse, there are at least two men visible - a cameraman and what I believe could be director Terence Young. Best viewed in slo-mo DVD.

Continuity: Near the end when Dr No attacks Bond up on the gantry we see two shots of the radioactivity meter where the red indicator is very close to maximum. The third time we see it just as they tumble off the gantry, it has moved much closer to the danger level.

Continuity: During the evening meeting in the bar we can see the band and a singer, but movement of his lips (despite that they were trying to hide them behind a big microphone) don't match what is sung.

Plot hole: When Bond is escaping through the metal ducts, presumably of Dr No's air-conditioning, he is deluged with torrents of water. He then leaves the pipe work through a metal grille into a passageway - why didn't the water leave the same way?

Revealing: In the scene where Bond is crawling through the pipes and then descending carefully to a lower level, a strange sound is heard and he begins to slip. As soon as the shot changes before this sound, we can see that it is a stuntman and not Sean Connery.

Continuity: When Bond gets into the car at the airport he is sitting behind the driver (left side of rear seat). In the next shot, he is sitting behind the front passenger seat (right side). In a later shot he is again sitting behind the driver (left side again).

Continuity: At the airport, Leiter gets into a 1961 Chevrolet Impala pillared sedan which changes to a a 4-door pillarless sedan during the ensuing car chase.

Continuity: When Bond and Honey get out of the water after Bond killed the soldier and after they clean themselves in clear water, Honey's shirt is dry, when it was completely wet before.

Continuity: Bond enters his room and spots Sylvia Trench playing golf. As they talk, she raises the golf club. When the angle changes, she holds it down and raises it again.

Continuity: When Honey is telling Bond that her shells could be sold for $50 in Miami, not only does the background appear to be the wrong section of the beach (it looks like the area up where her boat is stashed, not down on the sand bar) but at the bottom of the screen, some kind of buoy or flotation device bobs up on the water just behind Ursula Andress. A couple shots later, however, when they're running along the beach, the whole area is completely clear.

Other: At the end of the film when Bond and Honey are rescued in the small boat, Felix walks to greet them. What is strange though, is that there is no mention about where Quarrel is, even though Quarrel and Felix were good friends.
