Biloxi Blues

Continuity mistake: In the scene which they must cross the water during their hike, Sgt. Tumey asks Jerome to pick a volunteer to test the depth of the river. While Jerome is talking, his rifle is being held up and across his chest. While Sgt. Tumey is talking, you can see Jerome from behind and the rifle is down. It shifts back and forth during the dialog.

Factual error: During the scene where the platoon is stopped by the large lake on their 15 mile hike Sgt. Toomey says, "You must have been in the first World War." WWI and WWII were not referred to that way until years later.
