Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Continuity mistake: When Tommy is handcuffed and stood up he has leaves and debris stuck to his shirt but in the next shot of him standing up it's all gone. (00:26:33)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: This is not the same cemetery as the one in the opening scene, this is a real cemetery. The layout is different. There are no hills or staircases. It has different monuments and tombstones which actually have names on them. The quick shot of Jason's grave is just an insert. All the actors also avoid walking over any graves, and they do not take the same care in the opening scene. (00:25:39)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: As Jason pulls out the machete for the triple decapitation you can see his sleeve pulled up slightly revealing the Dan Bradley's wrist. It's not Jason's rotted skin seen in the opening. (00:24:18)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: Some of the shots in the woods are meant to be a burned out part of forest but the trees are just spray painted black. It obvious because in a fire all the tiny branches, vines and leaves on the forest floor would have completely burned. You can also see where the paint stops around the sides of some the trees and branches. (00:24:00)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: Roy has somehow circled back and is standing beside the same tree he was kneeling beside earlier when he broke the branch. The vines on the front of the tree were removed and the branch he broke is just below the camera but the tree itself and the trees in the background are identical. (00:22:58 - 00:24:04)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: When Jason holds up the severed arm and machete there is a small gap in the sleeve where you can see CJ Graham's skin and not Jason's rotted skin seen earlier. (00:22:29)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: The paint ballers are wearing safety googles which have two indirect vents on the top. These removable vents disappear one by one over the next few minutes. Larry is missing the vent over his right eye, then both vents. Then Katie is missing the vent over her left eye, then Stan is now missing the vent over his left eye and Katie is now missing both vents. (00:20:37)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: In front of Jason a few of the vines painted with black spray paint are visible. You can see where the paint stops around the sides. (00:20:58)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: Jason spears Darren in the stomach but the in the next shot the pole is not impaling him at all it's between his legs. Darren appears to be sitting on it as he jumps or is lifted up does the splits to avoid hitting Jason then brings his legs back together to land. (00:14:26)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: The muddy water is heated. You can see steam rising off water when Lizbeth is in it. The amount of steam changes as the water cools. Lizbeth is played by the director's then-wife, and they weren't going to let her sit in freezing water. (00:14:53)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: The "spearhead" of the pole Jason is holding is in his right hand pointed into the sky. In the next shot where he goes to stab the tire the spearhead is in his left hand pointed down to ground. (00:13:30)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: When Lizbeth puts the car in reverse and backs up the shot from the exterior shows the car backing up but the next shot from the interior you can see out the window that the car is not moving. The following shot of the exterior you see the car come to a stop just before the edge. (00:12:58)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: The shovel that Hawes uses to hit Jason is a fake breakaway shovel. It doesn't just break the wooden handle the metal part of the shovel itself breaks into pieces. Regardless of how hard Jason's head is Hawes could not swing that hard. (00:08:08)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: When Hawes runs away he can be seen in the background tripping and falling over. He is getting back up and racing away to the left toward the truck. The fall may not be a mistake but at no point is he shown coming back. A few shots later Hawes appears out of nowhere behind Jason to the right and attacks with the shovel. (00:07:25)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: When Tommy holds the mask in both hands before he throws it in the coffin, the strap on the right side of the mask is not connected to the other two straps. They are connected minutes later when Jason puts on the mask. (00:05:59)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: The hands that open the coffin in the closeups are not Thom Mathews'. The older looking hands belong to the director Tom McLoughlin. The insert shots of the hands opening the coffin are not filmed in the same hole as the other scenes. Tommy only dug down enough to open the coffin lid. This hole is deeper on the side you can see the entire side of the coffin that is still buried in other shots. Tom McLoughlin is standing beside the coffin while Thom Mathews is bending over above it to the side. (00:03:58)

FreDroDaGod

Continuity mistake: When Tommy grabs the fence post and goes to stab Jason he starts the stab on ground level the next shot he is actually down in the coffin. The scenes are cut together very well - it almost appears like he jumped in the casket while spearing Jason. (00:05:20)

FreDroDaGod

Revealing mistake: This is not a real cemetery - all the tombstones and monuments are fake. There are no names or inscriptions at all. Tommy is running around shining his light and pretending to read blank tombstones. The only real tombstone with a name is Jason's. (00:02:05)

FreDroDaGod

Deputy Rick: Megan, don't clown around.
Megan: I'm not the one with the funny red nose. Now, open the cell and let him out.
Deputy Rick: Meggie.
Megan: I'm not kidding.
Tommy: You better do as she says, because wherever the red dot goes, you bang.

Trivia: Director Tom McLoughlin revealed in a 2017 interview that he was approached at one point to write and direct the seventh installment of the series after "Jason Lives" proved popular. Knowing the studio wanted to make "Freddy VS Jason" at that point but couldn't due to legal rights, McLoughlin pitched another crossover idea - "Cheech and Chong Meet Jason", a farcical comedy starring the stoner comedy-duo in the vein of the old Universal "Abbot and Costello Meet..." films. The producer thought the film would do well with comedy audiences and was entertained by the idea, but ultimately decided it would alienate horror fans too much and it never moved forward.

Question: Why did Jason go into the children's cabin the first and second times? And why did he just draw close to Nancy when she saw him?

JohnShel91

Chosen answer: The first and second visits are unexplained. However he drew close to Nancy to install fear in her.

Ssiscool

Answer: Yes, I don't believe he was trying to scare her; I think he was just looking at her out of genuine curiosity.

Answer: In all his attacks he's never killed children, it's like he's never seen them before. Plus, it's almost he trying to recall memories of what he's looking at. "Where have I seen these little people before."

The children might possibly remind Jason of his own days at the camp when he was a child, before he drowned.
