Continuity mistake: When Hartmuts mother opens the bottle the bottletop is already off before she even touches the bottle.
Factual error: When Gary unscrews the top to the nozzle of the front tire of Karen's bike it automatically starts to make a loud hissing sound as if it's losing air rapidly. This wouldn't happen as although the tire would lose air over time it wouldn't make that loud hissing sound unless there was a rip or tear in the rubber. (00:21:35)
Factual error: Many palace scenes in the mini-series are set in the Forbidden City. This is incorrect, as the Forbidden City was built under the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and not completed until about 1420, almost 100 years after Marco Polo's death.
Visible crew/equipment: When Fenwick and Boogie are driving in the country watching the woman on horseback, the window on Fenwick's side of the car goes up and down several times in different shots. When the window is up, the cameraman can be clearly seen reflected in the glass.
Continuity mistake: During the first rape scene, Carla is slapped in the face drawing blood and a pillow is placed over her face. After the scene, however, there is no blood on her face or the pillow.
Continuity mistake: At one point in the film, the wingspan of Q is mentioned. Later on, its length is mentioned. The monster is twenty feet longer than its wingspan.
Continuity mistake: When Ken Wahl is skiing down the mountain being chased, does the jump and twist at the bottom of the mountain and shoots the guy. The guy is in midair when he gets shot and he has his skis on but when he hits the ground the skis are nowhere in sight.
Continuity mistake: When Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn are left alone to write the final scene to a movie, Goldie says she needs air, so Burt takes a trash can and breaks out a window. In the next shot, more of the window is broken out than was shown previously.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Victoria is watching man eat a cream cake, the man has cream on his nose but in a different shot he has none.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film when Jessica Lange, playing Frances Farmer, runs away from her parents' home in Seattle, Washington and takes on the life of a vagrant. She is seen hitchhiking on a road, which is obviously adjacent to a desert and looks very much like southern California. When the police pick her up and drive her back home, in what seems like a short period of time, she is transported back to the Seattle landscape surrounding her parents' home.
Continuity mistake: When Trash shoots the bounty hunter with the grappling hook, he shoots it at his stomach. After he ties it to the bike and drives off dragging the bounty hunter, the hook is now in his back.
Revealing mistake: When Meg Tilly is being drawn toward the casket by the strange pink light the telekinetic dead man Karl Raymar emanates you can see strings on her feet pulling her toward it.
Factual error: In the early part of the film Al and his daughter are watching the television and waiting for a car race to begin. During the dialogue you can hear in the background the announcer refer to the Long Beach Grand Prix. Then the start of the race is shown with grass covered hills in the background. The Long Beach Grand Prix was and is a city street race with no grass hills in the downtown area. (00:10:45 - 00:11:35)
Continuity mistake: As Garp is being placed aboard the helicopter, the rotor motor can be heard spinning, but there is no downdraft affecting the people in the scene.
Plot hole: We learn in the film that Cat People must kill a human in order to return to their human form. However, after becoming a cat at the swimming pool and terrorising Alice, Irena becomes human again without making a kill (the only other person at the closed pool is alive and well at the end of the scene - we know Alice has not imagined the presence of the cat because of her shredded clothes). Continuity mistake: In the very last scene of the film Paul Newman ignores the ringing phone with Charlotte Rampling on the other end. A wide shot shows a paper coffee cup is on a table to his right, in front of the plastic lid. In close up, he reaches right, picks up the cup from out of shot, drinks from it and, judging by his arm positioning, puts the cup back in the same place. The next, and final, shot of the film is wider angle again. The lid is there, but the cup is now missing.
Factual error: Kathleen Quinlan is named Janet Dunn, but when Gene Wilder looks at the newspaper and sees the headline about her murder, it falsely says her name is Janet Stone.
Continuity mistake: When Kenny Rogers gets trapped in the rest room at the beginning of the film, he pulls the knob out from the door. When this happens, the knob is on the left side of the door from his point of view. After he climbs out the window, the door has changed to having the hinges on that side and the style of the door does not look like it has a knob at all. A rest room this size would only have one door, so it has to be the same door.
Revealing mistake: The actors all have the speed, form, and physique of high school athletes- not people headed to the Olympics.
Character mistake: A newspaper headline is prominently displayed "No Clues in Lindbergh Kidnaping" - blatant misspelling.
