The Hunger Games

Corrected entry: When Katniss leaves Peeta to retrieve the package at the cornucopia, there is no bag for District 1. The girl from District 1 arrives after Katniss, so it should have still been on the table. Another clue to the fact that it was never there is the 4 bags that were there were evenly spaced, with bags 2 and 12 being equally distanced from each end of the table.

Correction: At this point of the movie, there are Tributes alive only from four districts. Clove is from District 2, same as Cato. The girl from District 1 (Glimmer) died when Katniss dropped the Tracker Jacker's nest on them.

Nondaime

Corrected entry: In the scene where Marvel throws a spear at Rue, Katniss pulls an arrow from the ground to shoot at Marvel, yet nowhere in the whole scene does she ever take an arrow out and put it on the ground.

Correction: She doesn't pick up an arrow up from the ground. She quickly reaches behind to pull one from the quiver that is hanging low on her shoulder. It's hard to see, and it's fast, but she does take it from there.

Correction: She is picking up her bow from the ground. She put it down so she could cut Rue free from the net she was trapped under. She then quickly grabs an arrow from her quiver.

Corrected entry: When Katniss sleeps in the tree for the second time she has a cover over her legs. After camera changes angle the cover is gone.

Correction: The cover we see is is when Katniss is still awake. We then see a shot of her sleeping then another shot where it is daylight and the cover has gone. This indicates a few hours have passed between the shots and she could have simply removed it in that time or it just fell off her.

Audio problem: When Katniss kills Marvel with her bow and arrow when she's with Rue, the cannon (which goes off when a tribute dies) doesn't fire. This happens a couple of other times in the movie too. (01:25:25)

Suggested correction: This isn't a mistake. First the cannons never went off immediately as evidence by the fact that after the initial battle when tributes were killed, they don't go off until Katniss got away. Then 6 went off in a row. The people in charge of the games decide when they go off. Plus, after Rue is killed, the audio cuts from all sounds of the arena for dramatic effect. The cannons could have gone off then. Or they could have gone off during the District 11 riot.

Continuity mistake: In the evaluation scene where Katniss shows off her bow and arrow skills, there are 4 arrows total. However, when she leaves, all 4 are gone, and she only shot 3.

Suggested correction: When she comes in, there are 5 arrows. She shoots 3 and when she walks away, you see 2 arrows left.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: In the scene when Katniss cuts the branch with the Tracker Jackers, the branch falls down with the swarm attacking those on the ground. Katniss climbs down from the tree, and the Trackers are all instantly gone.

Joseph Long

Correction: Because the people in the ground getting stung took off running for their lives and in pain. The tracker jackers chased them and left the hive behind.

Quantom X

Correction: Everything in the game arena is artificial and is created, controlled, and continually changed as needed by the game technicians. Just like the killer mutts seen at the end, the tracker jackers were created artificially by computers and were added and removed instantly. The gamers put the hive in the tree after Katniss was trapped there so it could be used as a weapon (Rue pointed it out to her). Earlier, when Katniss escaped the fire, that was also an environmental condition created by the gamers, and once it served its purpose (to steer her back to the other tributes), it was extinguished and the damage repaired. The mocking jays that Katniss and Rue heard in the trees were also artificial.

Continuity mistake: As well as being an audio problem, the cannon sound representing the death of a tribute is not consistent. It goes off shortly after the bloodbath scene and the scene in which Peeta kills a girl. It doesn't go off for any other deaths though, such as when Rue dies.

Suggested correction: Everytime the cannon is heard is when a tribute dies. And is often heard when a tribute not nearby is killed.

Factual error: At one point in the film, Katniss passes out after being stung by wasps numerous times. When she asks how long it had been upon awakening, Rue answers, "A couple of days." If she had been out that long, and as a result been unable to drink, she would be in very bad condition, not to mention the fact that she would immediately need to use the bathroom.

Suggested correction: You can help an unconscious person stay hydrated by gently pouring small amounts of water into their mouth. They'll swallow it by reflex.

Other mistake: The video stream displayed in the night sky showing which tributes have died after the first day does not add up correctly. They display in district order. We see the start, the girl from three (so the boy is still alive), and the boy from four with no breaks. Then they break away to show Katniss and the control room, after which they continuously show the boy and girl from seven, the boy from eight (so the girl is still alive), the girl from nine (so the boy is still alive), and then fade to the end. We know that Foxface, the girl from five, dies later in the movie. Even if we assume that during the portion not shown, the girl from four, the boy from five, and both tributes from six are dead, that's only a total of ten. Thirteen are supposed to be dead at that point in the movie. (01:16:20)

Trivia: Isabelle Fuhrman, who plays Clove, originally auditioned for the role of Katniss, but was told she was too young for the part. When she was later called back for the role of Clove and succeeded, they had to make Clove incredibly skilled with knives to make her seem just as intimidating as Cato, Glimmer and Marvel.

Question: After the end of the 74th Hunger Games, Haymitch and Katniss are having a conversation on a balcony and after Haymitch tells Katniss she showed them up, the camera moves to a wide shot of them and during Katniss' response, something can be seen moving inside of her dress that looks similar to a hand, but both character's hands can be seen resting on the ledge. Do you know what it is? (02:09:36)

Answer: I watched this scene multiple times on YouTube. There is definitely something moving that probably is not supposed to be seen. I'd agree with your assessment that it looks like a hand. Most likely a film crew member is crouched on the floor performing some technical function during the filming. Just what it is impossible to tell. You should submit it as a "movie mistake."
