Corrected entry: Gremlins die when they see bright light. When they start taking over the town, street lanterns don't seem to bother them until the end of the movie, where they suddenly hide in a cinema "because it's too bright outside." Inside the bar, lots of Gremlins got killed by the flash of a camera, and one Gremlin even died from the light of a simple match, although Gizmo survived a similar camera flash in the beginning of the movie without a problem.

Directed by: Joe Dante
Starring: Phoebe Cates, Zach Galligan, Hoyt Axton, John Louie
Revealing mistake: When the professor is trying to find the gremlin, he is in the room with the movie playing. The projector that is playing the movie is actually moving backwards. (00:44:35 - 00:47:35)
Randall Peltzer: Well, that's the story. So if your air conditioner goes on the fritz. Or your washing machine blows up. Or your video recorder conks out; before you call the repairman, turn on all the lights, check all the closets and cupboards, look under all the beds. Cause you never can tell. There just might be a gremlin in your house.
Trivia: When Billy's mom takes the picture of Gizmo at the beginning, Gizmo becomes frightened and runs over to Mr. Peltzer. When the scene is slowed, you can see the puppeteer's hand underneath while operating the Gizmo doll. Not a mistake as needs slo-mo, but worth a look. (00:19:10)
Question: Why does the video cover say "We're back"? It's the first film.
Answer: I have the VHS from the 80's. 100% it says we're back.
Answer: I just looked at the cover on cdcovers.cc and it actually says "We're Here", not "We're Back". On Gremlins 2 - The New Batch it says "Here they grow again".

Correction: Only sunlight kills them, not bright lights. They can't stand bright lights and cower away from it, but they don't die.
