Trivia: Gina Carano was fired after season two for repeatedly making inflammatory posts on Twitter, including spreading disinformation about the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election and wearing masks in public, as well as comparing political discourse in America to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany. Prior to her firing, she was set to have a larger role in the shelved spin-off series "Rangers of the New Republic." Carano ended up filing a wrongful termination lawsuit against Disney in 2024.

Dexter: New Blood (2021)

Trivia: One of the main reasons for this series being made was because fans generally had a very negative reception to how the original series ended. While this series as a whole was liked by fans compared to the later seasons of the original series and despite the efforts of the creators to give fans a more satisfying ending, the finale seemed to upset fans more than that of its predecessor. As of this writing, it even has a lower IMDB rating.

Trivia: Alison Brie expressed interest in the lead role after Kevin Feige stated that they were looking to cast an "Alison Brie-like actress."

Trivia: The studio asked Johnny Depp to resign from his role as Grindewald for this film, owing to allegations of domestic abuse by his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Depp later sued Heard for defamation and won the case.

Trivia: Legendary composer Ennio Morricone won his only competitive Academy Award for his score of this film. He was 87 years old, which also made him the oldest recipient of a competitive Oscar at the time.

Trivia: Despite long being one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, this was the first Tom Cruise film to earn more than $100 million at the domestic box office on its opening weekend. It also went on to become his highest grossing film, as well as his first film to gross $1 billion worldwide.

Black Panther (2018)

Trivia: This film sees Michael B. Jordan on a similar trajectory to Chris Evans. Both actors previously portrayed the Human Torch in much maligned Fantastic Four films, only to get redemption from fans and critics in the superhero genre as a whole for their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Trivia: The identity of the film's main antagonist was the subject of much speculation in the months leading up to its release. Nightmare was rumored, and the release of a toy line for the film showed action figures for the characters Sleepwalker and D'Spayre, neither of whom actually appear in the film.

Trivia: The six members of the Illuminati in the film are Mordo, Maria Rambeau, Captain Carter, Reed Richards, Professor X, and Black Bolt. The latter three are also members in the comics, however, the other three slots in its original incarnation were occupied by Doctor Strange, Namor, and Iron Man.

Trivia: The Dweller-in-Darkness is portrayed as a wyvern. In the comics, it is more Lovecraftian in appearance.

Trivia: SPOILER: This marks the first appearance in film for a member of the Inhumans, with Black Bolt being a member of the Illuminati. The Inhumans were originally supposed to have their own movie as part of the MCU's phase 3, but it was scrapped and adapted into a negatively received TV series on ABC, which was canceled after one season. Anson Mount, who plays Black Bolt here, also played Black Bolt in the TV series.
