The X-Files (1993)

Home - S4-E2

Audio problem: Scully asks the deputy if the vests are necessary and he replies in the same scene. His mouth is way off from his reply. It's likely this is because the show was shown on 4:3 aspect ratio televisions at the time, and he would simply not be visible. Because the show was shot in 16:9, he is very much visible on modern televisions and the mistake is incredibly obvious.

The Taking of Dispatch 9-1-1 - S3-E14

Continuity mistake: When all the firefighters and EMS teams are coordinating in the big dirt parking lot with the view of downtown LA behind them, the sun changes several times. Its either later in the day or earlier, depending on the angle. Look at the scenes with Athena talking to another character. The sun is in front of them. Cut, and the sun is overhead.

Revealing mistake: When E.B. is running by the Hollywood sign and we see his shadow on the sign, at one point the shadow doesn't touch the ground when it should. It hovers.

Visible crew/equipment: When James Marsden arrives at the house he is watching, he hurriedly opens the door and the camera pushes in on him. The reflection of a crew member can be seen in the left window. It's clear enough you can see the person turn their head.

Factual error: The movie takes place in Washington D.C, however the sequence with Hector Savage held up at his house was filmed in Los Angeles. This is obvious as the sequence features palm trees, and mountains are visible at times.

The Naked Gun (1988)

Trivia: The woman who shouts "hey look out" as Frank's car comes barrelling out of control toward him, is also in the second and third films. In the second film, she is a guest at the party. In the third film, she is at the beginning with a baby on the steps. Why is she in all three films? Probably because she's Naked Gun creator David Zucker's sister Susan Breslau.

Speed (1994)

Revealing mistake: When Howard shoots the subway driver near the end, we see the driver collapse and die. Where did the damage from the bullets go? There's not much in the way of bullet holes or broken glass. Certainly an automatic weapon would've produced some damage.

Continuity mistake: When Marty stops the Delorean in front of the Lyon Estates sign after escaping the farm, notice the sun - it's overcast and kind of foggy. When he looks at the sign from another angle, it has become more sunny, and later in the day. When the couple with the car passes, it has returned to the same as before.
