Continuity mistake: At the Internet Store, Spencer was told his house was "right outside" the service area, internet was not available, and a satellite would not work. At the Phone Store, Chad told Lynn and Zoe they were in the "dead zone." When Lynn answered Spencer's call by putting her head out the upstairs window, she said, "The service is great up here." Continuity mistake: When the "kid" rolls off his sled into the snow, his sled is right behind him and about to hit the leg he was turning over in the air, but an aerial view shows the sled's tracks stop about 10' before the kid. Revealing mistake: There's no doubt that Joey and his mother were not real kangaroos, but there wasn't even an attempt to make them look at least semi-real with animatronics or better CGI. The kangaroos' appearances were more along the line of what would be expected in a cartoon or all-animated movie. (00:01:00)
Audio problem: During Rusty's conversation with Hardy (about knowing he doesn't want to be at the orphanage), some camera views of Hardy from behind show his cheek (and therefore his mouth) making little and insufficient movement for the words he is saying. Plot hole: Kyle got a flat tire and there was no cell phone reception to call for help, so he and Julia decided to walk to the Ghost Town. Factual error: "The Waltons Homecoming" is a remake of the 1971 TV-movie that led to the 1972-81 television series "The Waltons." The Postal Service did not introduce ZIP codes and two-letter state abbreviations until 1963.
Other mistake: Narrating, Ringo said "Let me be clear. I never steal from people who don't deserve it." He was in a bank's safety deposit room, which was full of hundreds (if not thousands) of safety deposit boxes. Revealing mistake: At first glance, the cow at the start may have looked real, but its limited mouth movement while eating grass (without any grass being pulled out) indicates it was a mechanical cow. The cow also did not move its rear end or raise its head when Fenn and Geary approached and stood right behind it.
