Factual error: Lieutenant Hudner comments that he went into the Naval Academy right after Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor happened in December 1941 and he couldn't have gotten into the Naval Academy until 1942. Then he says, "The war ended a month before he graduated." The Naval Academy is a four-year school. That means he wouldn't have graduated until 1946, a year after the war ended.
Factual error: North Carolina prohibits the tattooing of minors (under 18-years-old) and is not a state that allows minors to be tattooed even with prior consent from a parent or guardian. The Fort Bragg army man gave his son (clearly a minor, about 10-years-old) birthday money to pay for the tattoo and his permission to get a tattoo. (00:14:23)

Under "Academics", Ali is listed as "MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY" - but "Honors" should be singular ("Honor"). It is also odd to state "All 'A' honor roll." With a GPA of 4.3, something to the effect of "Highest Honors with Distinction" would be more likely. [It is possible to receive a "B" in an Advanced Placement course yet have a GPA above 4.0.]. Factual error: When the magician has brought the crocodile home at the beginning of the movie and is trying to get him to sing, the crocodile is shivering because he's cold. The magician wraps him with a scarf and the crocodile warms up and is willing to sing. However, this would not work, as crocodiles are cold-blooded and unable to generate body heat. The crocodile would need a heat lamp or some other source to become warm again.
Factual error: Norma Jean's mother is driving away from the house onto the street. She turns left and crosses a yellow dividing lane in the middle of the street. It is supposed to be 1933. But these yellow dividers did not come into existence until the 1950's.
Factual error: The owl that JP was looking at made a "who who" sound. The owl may appear to be a Snowy Owl (one many people are familiar with), but it is a Barn Owl. Barn owls are not "true" owls and it is the true owls who "give a hoot." Barn owls don't hoot; they make a screeching or squealing sound which can be piercing (and eerie to some people). (00:32:50)
Factual error: The nuclear missiles are shown in flight numerous times. They're travelling horizontally, and have their rocket motors on. Except that long range nuclear missiles are ballistic, and follow a curved path to and from space. And their rocket motors are on only for the thrust phase of the flight, and not halfway to the target.
Factual error: The Thief's getaway car's front license plate had "Glorious Pacific Northwest" across the top but failed to identify the State. A front and rear license plate is required in Washington (The Evergreen State). In the event this was supposed to be a vanity plate, "Washington" would still be required on the plate. (00:09:40)
Factual error: Considering everything that happens after Lester comes down the stairs at Samantha's house around 10:05 PM, it is impossible for it to only be 10:15 when she sits down to eat pizza. Factual error: Though the Elvis Christmas Special was shot in June 1968, Bobby Kennedy's assassination happened on June 6th and not while the recording had place -as the movie depicts - between June 27 and June 30.
Factual error: The Artist lit a match and candle in his cell. Both are contraband in prison (especially for someone scheduled to be executed). Matches pose a risk of fire/arson and deliberate burning injury or death to a person. Candle wax can be used to prevent cell and other prison doors from locking, creating an escape risk. Also, The Artist's prison cell appeared to be much bigger than a master bedroom (standard size 14'x16'). Prison cells are around 6'x8' or 7'x12'. (01:17:45)
Factual error: Pettis' calculation of the amount Connor needed to replace his asset was way off. He stated, "[Cornell] brought me about 250 [$250,000] a year. He had at least 20 more years of service. Subtract five years he might have spent in prison, so you owe me, what? Six point two million." Pettis was presented as intelligent, but a quick mental calculation of even the full 20 years at $250,000 would total only $5 million (not $6.2 - an odd sum). Factual error: The land was snow-covered, but it was raining during the nighttime "bedroom scene." The exterior view the next morning was not what would be expected IF it had rained on top of the already-accumulated snow. There wasn't even any indication that it had recently rained. At another time, the amount of snow accumulated along the driveway was much higher than previously shown although there had not been any obvious major storms - the weather was clear during their excursions. Factual error: Henry appeared to punch Jason higher on his left side and more toward the back than where the bruise was later shown to be (closer to his waist). More significantly, the bruise quickly changed colors from red/blue-purple to the entire large area being bluish-purple and deep purple. Factual error: The tank used by the German platoon is a Soviet T54/55, which didn't come into service until 1948, after the Lapland War had ended.
