Episode #1.1 - S1-E1
Factual error: The American flag shown waving outside the White House is the current present-day flag with 50 stars. From 1896 to 1908, (the time period that this show is set in) the US flag only had 45 stars as Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nebraska, Alaska and Hawaii were not recognised as states in that time period. The flag did not have 50 stars until 1960. (00:04:30)

Factual error: We see how the accident-prone Wilton Parmenter was a soldier at Appotomatox during the Civil War when he sneezed. Union soldiers mistook his sneezing for a call to regroup and charge, winning the battle. Wilton Parmenter was awarded the Medal Of Honour. Accident-prone, even in his moment of glory, when the medal was pinned on Wilton's chest it pierced his skin, drawing blood. Wilton was therefore awarded the Purple Heart, becoming "the only soldier in history to get a medal for getting a medal." This was not possible, for the "Purple Heart" (or "Badge Of Military Merit", to use its proper title) awarded to US soldiers wounded in action, was only instituted in 1932. (Before somebody corrects me, George Washington did institute the award for some distinguished combatants during the War Of Independence, but it was never awarded during the nineteenth century, and revived in 1932).
![Black Sheep Squadron picture](/images/titles/12000-12999/12587_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the show, the squadron has to land on a carrier deck. The shots from the sky go back and forth between a straight deck carrier and an angled carrier deck. Also, an angled carrier wasn't put into use until the early 50's by the British, Black Sheep takes place in WWII.

Factual error: The sea plane that lands to rescue Savage at the end is a type not built until after the war. And it's marked "U.S. Air Force," an entity that also didn't exist until after the war. During WWII, what later became the Air Force was known as the U.S. Army Air Corps.
![Birdsong picture](/images/titles/9000-9999/9178_sm.jpg)
Factual error: The battalion commander wears the correct crown and pip of a lieutenant-colonel, but the four cuff rings of a full colonel (lieutenant-colonels wore three).

Black Blood - S1-E1
Other mistake: All the Greek name variants are used over the Latin ones - including even "Odysseus" over the more familiar "Ulysses" (who is the same person). However when the story of Actaeon comes up, it's suddenly the goddess "Diana" that he saw. But all the gods have their Greek names, so that should be "Artemis." (As indeed is used in episode 2). ![McHale's Navy picture](/images/titles/10000-10999/10430_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: Halfway through the show, they get caught not having the boat, and McHale gets taken by boat to the commander's office. As he leaves the pier, he drops the rope on the seat next to him, they do a close-up and the rope is behind him about 5 feet away.
![Generation Kill picture](/images/titles/11000-11999/11787_sm.jpg)
Factual error: Throughout the mini-series, the First Recon Marines use AN/PAQ-4 laser sights, when in reality they used the AN/PEQ-2 laser. Another error is that they are using (according to them) AAA batteries for the sights, while both sights actually run on AA batteries.
!['Allo 'Allo! picture](/images/titles/14000-14999/14055_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: When Rene comes upstairs to speak to Michelle, his hands and arms are covered in cement. However, when he arrives in the cafe from the basement his arms and hands are clean. Not enough time has elapsed for him to clean them all perfectly. (00:03:05)
![Army Wives picture](/images/titles/13000-13999/13805_sm.jpg)
Factual error: LtCol Baisley has his name and U.S. Army patches on the wrong side of his uniform. He has the Army patch on his right side instead of on the left. (00:33:00)
![Six picture](/images/titles/13000-13999/13950_sm.jpg)
Factual error: The Navy Seals call in air support and provide a fire mission to given coordinates. The targets are engaged with rockets and gatling/chain guns. The UH-60 Black Hawk is shown leaving after the air strike. This UH-60 however only had mini-guns in the doors. The type of UH-60 needed for this action would be the UH-60 DAP, which is configured as a gunship and has no troop carrying capacity. The DAP can carry chain guns, mini-guns, missiles and or rockets. (00:03:00 - 00:03:23)
![Ike: The War Years picture](/images/titles/12000-12999/12574_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: At the Chequers meeting in early 1944, Sir Bernard Montgomery is wearing the rank insignia of a field marshal. In the later meeting with the King in which the D-Day plans are announced, he is correctly wearing that of the lower rank of general. In fact, Montgomery was promoted from general to field marshal on 1 September 1944, nearly three months after D-Day.
![Battleline picture](/images/titles/15000-15999/15163_sm.jpg)
Factual error: They show a clip of a kamikaze diving into a ship. The clip they show was actually an event from much later in the war: offshore of Okinawa. No ship on either side was struck by a plane during the Battle of Midway.
![1864 picture](/images/titles/11000-11999/11076_sm.jpg)
Factual error: Helmuth von Moltke is addressed and referred to several times as Field Marshal. He wasn't promoted to that rank until 1871. He was a lieutenant-general during the Second Schleswig War in 1864.
![Edward the King picture](/images/titles/9000-9999/9645_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: When the princess moves between rooms, the door in the first room is left well open, but when the shot changes to the second room, the first door is almost closed. (00:05:40)
