Child's Play

Easter egg: If you have the regular Child's Play DVD (the one with Chucky looking at you with a scrunched, evil face while holding a knife), go on the bonus features, go to the second page with the behind the scenes features, and press "right." Chucky's eyes should turn red, so press enter, and you'll get a very brief, animated version of Chucky saying "Hi, evil comes in little packages, like me."

Easter egg: If you have the Child's Play DVD with Chucky slightly turned and with a scrunched, evil expression, and while holding a knife, go to the bonus features and on the first "page" (Chucky looking down at Andy), press "right" on your remote. Chucky's eyes should turn red, and if you press "enter", you'll get a very brief, animated version of Chucky saying "I'm the original designer toy."

Continuity mistake: When Andy pours the cereal, and then the milk, there is cereal on the counter, to the left of the bowl. There is loads of cereal on the counter, then when Andy puts the burnt toast onto a plate, there is much less cereal. Then when he takes the tray from the counter, there's now loads of cereal on it. Trivia: When Chucky is running behind Maggie, many children and child relatives of cast and crew were filmed doing the run while dressed up as Chucky, including Alex Vincent's younger sister, since it would have been impossible for the animatronic Chucky to run across screen like that. However, it is unknown which child ultimately was used in the final cut.

Question: Why was the film banned in Ireland?

Answer: Both "Child's Play" and its sequels were banned in several European countries after the murder of 2-year old James Bulger in Liverpool in 1993 by two ten-year olds. Some people felt that the killing was done in a way very similar to how Chucky is disposed of in "Child's Play 3", and blamed the whole thing on violent movies, causing bans from several governments. Interestingly enough, the UK never officially banned these movies, but most video rentals refused to carry it.
