Backdraft

Brian goes to Steven's boat, after his interview with Ronald, to find out it was Axe who planted the Triptochlorate on Steven's boat. Stephen finds Brian at the boat, and has some rather cryptic remarks for Brian. Stephen is on his boat, and sees the chemicals. Brian pries into Stephen's locker at the firehouse, and finds nothing. Stephen pulls up and asks Brian if it's Axe, who planted the chemicals. It was, as they head off to the final fire. Axe is hanging off Stephen's leg, who is hanging by a thread to a metal pole. Just as Brian offers his hand out, Stephen falls, crashing through a pole, and Axe falls to his death. Stephen later dies, and Swayszak is arrested in the middle of a press conference.

Chosen answer: Why not? There's no reason why an actor couldn't play his own father at the same age - indeed, it can serve to emphasise a family resemblence between father and son. It can also serve as a swift way of letting the audience know that this is the father, rather than having a different actor come in and have to have the relationship established through dialogue.
