Continuity mistake: During the fight in the garage, the protagonist neutralizes (and maybe neuters) one of the baddies crotching him with the car door. In that sequence, his hands keep changing position on the door. (00:07:30)
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, Jason Sudeikis pops out of a door wearing a Jurassic 5 T-shirt. Problem is, the artwork on it is from the cover of Feedback, their 2006 album. The scene, as the introductory caption says, is supposed to happen in 2002. (00:00:55)
Factual error: Tina's striptease dance is mentioned several times as a notable scene in the fictional 1986 movie 'Camp Bloodbath'. When that scene plays out, the song Tina dances to is Warrant's 'Cherry Pie', which wasn't released until 1990.
Continuity mistake: During the saloon heist, Luke Wilson comes in to distracts Harvey Keitel. Danny pulls out a roll of banknotes to buy "some real scotch from Scotchland"; one of the girls poured a drink to Smiley and put the bottle down, but the bottle in a following shot is in a different position. Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the movie when Joy is in her airline's company uniform and getting ready to go to work, the knot on her scarf changes from loose to tight several times in the different shots.

Continuity mistake: When the two protagonists are introduced to the private room and watch Dan's video message, the clock in the background never moves despite the several minutes duration.
Other mistake: During the opening, when Danny rides his bike past the boatyard, the image has been reversed. The registration numbers on the boats appear as mirror images.
Continuity mistake: Théo shows up in class unannounced. The teacher tells him to sit next to "that girl", mistaking Daniel for one. The classmates of course have a cackle at that; the girl at the desk behind Daniel's laughs holding a pen in her left hand at first, right hand at the cut. (00:08:50)
Continuity mistake: First meeting with Lazarus; the pastor sits down, his wife is just about to, and Verdean's assistant has placed her bag on the table. Next shot, pastor and wife seated, but Miss Jensen is still just only then approaching the chair and putting the bag down. (00:08:25)
Other mistake: The town is Mt Barker. The red and blue ribbons on the sheep pen say Mt Baker.
Other mistake: The day before the business trip, Vince Vaughn enters his son's room. They have an awkward chat about masturbation and when he leaves, his son checks out of the bad things that bullies with even worse photoshop skills post on Facebook. He is looking at two different posts, but two comments are exactly the same in both, complete with the same peculiar spelling mistake. (00:08:30)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the first thug is trying to convince Brennan to handle the gun. He repeatedly uses the trigger to show him that the gun is harmless; in the next shot the weapon mid-sentence is already turned around the other way, held out for Brennan. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene with the fireworks, the Deputy driving the vehicle has his outside mirror knocked off by a firework. You then see the same and only Deputy in the car, in the mirror getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle to confront the misfits. The change isn't due to the reflected image. (00:13:05)
Factual error: Summer and Carmen are at the saloon and catch on the local news the report of the kidnapping. The scene is set in Tuscany, Italy, but the news anchor is Spanish actress Paz Vega, speaking with an obvious accent and mispronouncing words. To make the whole situation even more absurd, she is supposed to portray a native Italian speaker, "Giulia Carni": the last name is Italian sounding but nonexistent in reality, and the headline used for the news report, "Nonna-napper", "kidnapper of grandmother" has such an awkward and unnatural sound and feel in Italian and for an Italian audience, that nobody ever would use it. Continuity mistake: The guys pass 3 women walking on the sidewalk just before the Ciel pulls up at the hotel to visit Travis. 2 of these women are in the next shot where Vinnie and Eric get out of the car and walk into the hotel. The tall one in a floral dress walks away from the camera and stands to one side, and the blonde wearing the black top and spotted shorts is chatting in the background. (01:06:05 - 01:06:55)
Visible crew/equipment: When Davis comes out from the train with the headphones on in the subway just before starting to dance, a cameraman filming the scene can be briefly seen reflected on the train door's glass. (01:08:00)
Continuity mistake: Lotte is in her room looking at the checklist for the parade. The size and angle of the quill pen change every time there's a cut. (00:14:40)
Revealing mistake: At the cocktail party in his honor, Rita Richards introduces herself. Joaquin Phoenix's scotch is in a transparent plastic cup, and you notice what happens in most movies, here with particular clarity; when he brings it to his mouth, he does not take even a sip, but just pretends. Factual error: A 1955 Chevrolet is parked in front of Lily Tomlin's 1955 Dodge. Its license plate reads "528 GPR." California license plates did not begin to use combinations of three numbers followed by three letters until 1969. The "528 GPR" plate would have been issued circa 1975 and originally had yellow letters on a blue background. For the movie, the blue background was repainted black so the colors were appropriate for 1955. However, an actual 1955 plate would have three letters followed by three numbers.
