![The Man Who Never Was picture](/images/titles/4000-4999/4410_sm.jpg)
Factual error: Towards the middle of the movie when when the British submarine leaves port with the Man Who Never Was onboard, it is flying what appears to be an American flag. The flag is visible for about ten seconds and if you look closely, you can see the field of blue of the stars and stripes in the upper corner.
Suggested correction: The flag, as can be seen before submarine sails and then from a distance, is obviously the White Ensign.

Factual error: Two grave markers at the end, approximately one hour and 27 minutes into the film, have the date of November 7, 1889, on them. The script made it clear that the climactic gunfight between Glenn Ford and Broderick Crawford came on a Sunday. Ford was called out of church services, for example. According to The World Almanac and Book of Facts, November 7, 1889, was a Thursday, not a Sunday.

Continuity mistake: When Frankie punches Barakov, pushing him through the window, not only do you see the wires lifting him, but it is obvious that the inside of the building is a studio set as not only does the window get broken, but also the wall above it is torn. The wall is obviously made of paper and the scenery outside the building is a painted backdrop. And when the angle changes to outside the building, only the window is broken but the wall is intact.

One lot is further away from the pole holding the shade canopy and in a closer shot it's now changed position and closer to the other bullets. The shot then changes again and the bullets are back to their original position as seen earlier. (01:19:25 - 01:20:50)

There's also a pen on the table that should have been visible before, but wasn't there. (00:36:25)

![The Great Locomotive Chase picture](/images/titles/10000-10999/10353_sm.jpg)
Factual error: The Yonah in the film, portrayed by a 1920's-built replica of an 1830's vintage engine with a 4-2-0 wheel arrangement, is significantly different from the actual engine. The real life Yonah, built in 1849, had a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement just as the General and Texas engines. Also, the Yonah had a cowcatcher, a headlight, and sand box, all of which the engine in the film lacks.
