The Golden Girls

There Goes the Bride (1) - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: As the show begins, an outside shot of the house shows that it is night. Then it cuts to the scene of Blanche and Sophia playing Chess in the kitchen - when Blanche is complaining about Sophia's "do-overs" you can see outside the kitchen window and it is daytime. After Rose walks in about 30 seconds later, you can see that it is night again.

Adult Education - S1-E20

Continuity mistake: Blanche says she can't go to the Sinatra concert because her final exam is that night. In the first classroom scene, the chalkboard says that the final exam is in four weeks. But before Blanche gets home and tells the girls that her teacher wants her to sleep with him, Dorothy says the concert is in two weeks. It is the same day, since Blanche is wearing the same outfit and she wouldn't wait two weeks to tell the girls about her teacher.

Vacation - S2-E8

Continuity mistake: When the girls are sitting around the campfire, the amount of burned wood changes from shot to shot. First it's partially scorched, then mostly scorched then partially scorched again.

Mozzie-6

Big Daddy's Little Lady - S2-E6

Blind Ambitions - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When the women are sitting at the table outside, Lily insists on pouring everyone's lemonade. She is shown pouring the first 2 cups, then in the very next shot the remaining empty cups are gone from the tray and everyone has their cup of lemonade.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Throughout the show, Rose implies through numerous stories that everyone in St. Olaf, explicitly including close family members, is just as dumb and weird as Rose herself. However, most of Rose's relatives we meet are perfectly normal people, including her adoptive mother, both of her daughters that we get to see, her biological father and her blind sister. During a dream sequence, her adoptive father appears and he doesn't seem to be unintelligent either, giving her good advice. Only her cousin Sven fits her description by being arguably even dumber than her.

If At Last You Do Succeed - S6-E3

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Stan stops by the house to have Dorothy help him tie the bow tie of his tuxedo, the undone tie is hung around his neck. After Dorothy finishes tying the bow tie and Stan proceeds to leave, she stops him to tell him to return in an hour. He excitedly turns around towards her, at which point we can see that the bow tie is now a clip-on. (00:18:55 - 00:20:55)

Continuity mistake: In the episode when Dorothy is trying out for Jeopardy, she is sitting on the couch studying, When Sophia sits down to talk to her Dorothy is looking at a page with just words, It cuts to Sophia and then to Dorothy and the page now has pictures on it. You can still see the corner of the book when the frame is on Sophia and you can see that Dorothy did not turn the page.

Strange Bedfellows - S3-E7

Ebb Tide - S5-E11

Continuity mistake: At Big Daddy's (Blanche's father) funeral/passing, Blanche shows Dorothy around her childhood home but it was revealed in season 1 episode 24 that Big Daddy had sold the property to pay for a music tour and to escape the constant reminder of his late wife, the house was named Twin oaks.

Brother, Can You Spare That Jacket? - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, the girls regroup after looking for the winning scratch-off ticket and Blanche says she found it. At that moment, she is not holding her purse, however in the very next shot, after the priest enters the room, she's suddenly holding her purse again without the girls ever having moved from their spots.

Home Again, Rose (2) - S7-E24

Continuity mistake: When Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia are sitting in the reception area arguing with Kirsten, Sophia sits forward and says she loves Rose as if she was one of her own. When she sits forward, you can see the beads on her purse handle are strung tightly. When she leans back in her seat, you can see big spaces between beads, as if some have been taken off.

Continuity mistake: In season 1 episode 12, the wallpaper and wall decorations are changed in the kitchen but in this episode they revert back to the original.

Suggested correction: That's because the episodes were aired out order than when they were produced. This episode was the second episode produced (production code "002") whereas episode 12 was the 14th episode produced.

Take Him, He's Mine - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: In this episode, Blanche goes out with Stan, which results in the two of them becoming good friends who see each other often and hang out together. The only reason they end their friendship is because Dorothy got jealous, not for personal differences between them. Although Dorothy assumed the two have an affair, it turns out they were really just platonic friends who liked going out together. Still, in every episode afterwards, Blanche dislikes Stan again and treats him like an annoying person just like before, even though in the meantime she figured out how much fun he can be as a friend.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Whether Gladys Goldfine is alive or dead changes from episode to episode. For example in one episode, Sophia is mad at her because she doesn't take her out to a Tony Bennett concert and we see her apologizing to Sophia in the end, but in an earlier episode Salvatore's spirit told Sophia that Gladys has an affair with Charlemagne in heaven.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the episode where Sophia loses her glasses, Dorothy answers the door and Sophia says "is this 6151 Richmond St?" Trivia: Although she appeared to be an 80 year old on the show, the late Estelle Getty (born 7/25/23) was younger than her costars Betty White (born 1/17/22) and Bea Arthur (born 5/14/22); and Rue was the youngest of the four (2/21/34). Estelle at first was turned down for the role of Sophia (because she was too young). It was only after she came back dressed in a gray wig, thrift store dress, and heavily made-up, that she got the part.

Question: The question "How do the girls' husbands, other than Dorothy's, die?" was answered that in theory, Blanche's husband could have had a car wreck, fallen into a coma, and died while she was getting a pedicure. This is not true. Blanche stated that when George came back to her in a dream, she remembered tripping over his shoe on her way to answer the phone, thus finding out that George had died in a car wreck. Doesn't this prove that the "he had a wreck, fell into a coma, and then died during Blanche's pedicure", theory is out?

Countryrunner

Chosen answer: Yes, you are correct, as stated, In one episode Blanche said he had been in a coma for days, in the episode where she's in her dream, she said "The day you died ... The police told me you had been in an accident." Thus the original answers theory is wrong. If he had been in the accident the day he died he could not have been in a coma for days.

Valentine

Yeah, in another episode she relates how a thoughtless state trooper phoned her and told her that her husband was dead with his mouth full.
