Continuity mistake: When Rimmer visits rich Lister, he apears from a point right next to him. But when he leaves, the point at which he disappears is much furthur back.
Continuity mistake: When Kochanski is in bed at the start of the episode, she is wearing stud ear rings. When she gets up to go to the kitchen area, they are now hoops. (00:02:20 - 00:03:50)
Continuity mistake: When Able takes his head off and throws it at the simulant, he throws it forwards towards where Lister is standing. The head manages instead, somehow, to hit the simulant standing next to the gelf on Able's left. (00:20:00)

Continuity mistake: When Lister and the Cat wake up from stasis, Lister walks over to the computer and his locks are over his right shoulder. In the next shot they have disappeared. (00:12:50)
Continuity mistake: When Lister, the Cat and their higher selves are walking down the corridor, the way Lister is facing changes between shots throughout the scene. (00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: One of Starbug's legs breaks off when it hits rocks on the moon but in the next shot, the leg has returned. (00:23:20)
Continuity mistake: In the hologram simulation suite, the amount of smoke changes from cut to cut throughout the scene. (00:06:30)
Continuity mistake: When Lister and the Cat are on the moon, their casts keep appearing then disappearing. (00:15:15)
Continuity mistake: When Lister and the Cat put their sunglasses on, Rimmer's tie changes between camera cuts from over his shoulder to neat and straight. (00:18:00)
Continuity mistake: When the cat priest dies, the hat he is wearing falls onto the bed above his head. When the shot changes the hat is gone. (00:26:35)
Continuity mistake: Just after Kochanski jumps on Lister, she stands up and says 'I don't know what got into me' with her hand on her head. In the next shot, her hand is by her side. (00:16:35)
Continuity mistake: The cable attached to the gunman is pulled away from the wall when he shuffles past the window, yet when Lister opens the window, it is still attached. (00:15:55)
Answer: The cello is a large four-stringed instrument, which, when it is played, stands vertically on the floor between the player's legs (assuming they are seated). If it is to grow as large as the other instuments mentioned will, it would require a rather unseemly lack of femininity to be able to encompass it with the legs.
