Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)

A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
Trivia: Although it sounds made up to fit the plot of the movie, the song "If You've Only Got a Moustache" was a real song from the 1860's. It was written by Stephen Foster (lyrics by George Cooper) who also wrote "Camptown Races" and "Oh! Susanna," although some of the lyrics were changed in the film. Foster (who is also brought up in a later scene) incidentally died at the age of 37 from a fall and fever, which also seems to fit the plot of the movie of so many random ways to die.

Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
Left Behind - S1-E9
Trivia: Not quite a mistake given the fictitious nature of the show; but in 1960, as a college physics professor, Ray makes a comment indicating one of the guys in his class is Bill Gates' father. Bill Gates' proper name is William Henry Gates III, and the man in class would be William Henry Gates II (or William Gates Jr.), which should have been enough of a clue for Ray who this man was. However, Bill Gates' father graduated from law school in 1950 and would have been 35 in 1960, not some young college kid taking a physics class as shown.

Airplane (1980)
Trivia: While the film is a parody of many of the 70's disaster movies, including the Airport film series, it's mainly a parody of the film Zero Hour! In fact, the creators bought the rights to the screenplay Zero Hour! and kept many of the plots and character names, and even dialog. Arthur Hailey who wrote Zero Hour! also wrote the Airport series.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001)
Trivia: At Loretta Marlon's plea hearing, her lawyer mentions a ham sandwich after ADA Carver says the evidence was good enough for a grand jury to indict her. This is a reference to the ease district attorneys have in getting indictments. It is said it originated from a former New York chief judge, Sol Wachtler, who said "district attorneys now have so much influence over grand juries that by and large they could get them to indict a ham sandwich." Later, Tom Wolfe used the reference in the novel "The Bonfire of the Vanities."

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991)
Trivia: The story Lt. Valeris tells of the word origin for "sabotage", with sabots being thrown into machinery, is simply not true (although a persistent enough falsehood not to be considered a movie mistake). While the word does take its roots from sabots (wooden shoes), it comes from French anarchist Pouget wanting to translate the British practice of ca'cannery, deliberately working slowly, into a French word. Those who wore wooden shoes moved clumsily and slower than those with leather shoes.

Pixels (2015)
Trivia: Futurama's "Anthology of Interest II" episode contained a segment called "Raiders of the Lost Arcade" where Fry asks what would happen if life was more like a video game. In the segment, video games come to life and attack Earth, and it's up to Fry to save the day because of his video game playing skills. Billy West, who voices Fry, later performed voices in "Pixels", which was based on this premise.

LEGO Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite (2013)
Trivia: When The Joker interrupts the ceremony and shows the video of him blowing up the building, there's a scene where he hits the detonator a few times before the building blows up. This is a scene paying homage to what happened in The Dark Knight when there was an actual unplanned delay during filming of the explosion going off during the blowing up of the hospital.
