The Other Guys

Factual error: After the stationary 3D scene of the wild night drinking. There is a city skyline scene. The film is set in New York and the skyline scene is actually of Boston. Check the buildings from the right hand side. Recognisable ones you see in order:- The I.M. Pei Building. (with the arch on it.) The Prudential Building. The new John Hancock Building and then just at the base of it, to the left and partially obscured, the distinctive original John Hancock Building.

Bluey

Factual error: In the film they refer to a robbery in progress as a 211 at beginning of the film. The problem is that's the California Penal Code for robbery, not New York. New York's Penal Code for robbery is 10-30.

Factual error: When Gamble and Hoitz go the David Ershon's accounting office in Fairlawn, NJ, every car in the parking lot has New York plates. A bit hard since Fairlawn is near Paterson, NJ, and is located in Southeast Bergen County. After the office explodes the fire dept. shows up in fire trucks in yellow w/blue striping. Fairlawn Fire Dept. fire trucks are red w/white striping or white over red paint.

The Other Guys mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Gamble and Hoitz get thrown to the ground when the accounting office explodes. In an overhead shot of them rolling around on the ground, Gamble's wooden gun has fallen from its holster and is lying on the ground. Cut to a side shot and the gun is back in its holster. Gamble had both hands covering his ears the whole time, he did not pick up the gun. Then comes another overhead shot, the wooden gun is again missing from the holster. (00:48:45)
