Continuity mistake: When the recruits are going to attend to the riot, Mahoney is on the bus wearing a brown uniform, as he has just been dismissed by Lieutenant Harris. However, later on, when he is rescuing Harris from the rooftop, he is wearing the regular uniform.
Suggested correction: Mahoney is always wearing the blue uniform; there wouldn't be two colors of a uniform, they're designed to match.
Continuity mistake: When the female trainee is doing the driver training, she goes under the water spray but the next shot shows the windscreen dry and clean. There is no sign of the wipers being used.
Lieutenant Thaddeus Harris: Mahoney! I already told you once. Nobody screws with me.
Cadet Carey Mahoney: Well, maybe you'll meet the right girl and all of that'll change.
Trivia: The character of Callahan was supposed to be a mannish woman. Leslie Easterbrook (who was cast to play her) had to convince the filmmakers to let her portray Callahan as a sexy but tough seductress.
Question: What song is playing at the Blue Oyster Bar when Copeland and Blankes are forced to dance with the patrons? It's the one that has, what I think is a mambo like sound.
Answer: The song is called "El Bimbo" and was performed by Jean-Marc Dompierre and his Orchestra. It's a cover version, the song was originally produced by Bimbo Jet (a French group). This song is played in several other Police Academy films.
