Stand By Me

Gordie, Chris, Vern and Teddy find the body but Ace and Eyeball find them. Gordie makes them back off by threatening them with a gun. Gordie and his pals tell the police about the body by anonymous call. They get home. As the years go by, Teddy and Vern grow apart from Gordie and Chris, who go to college together. Chris tries to break up a fight between two men in front of him at a restaurant, he gets stabbed in the throat and dies almost instantly. Gordie gets married, becomes a writer and has kids.

Gordie: Dad, they're okay.

Trivia: During the production of Stand By Me, director Rob Reiner did not want the film to be called The Body (the same name of the short story by Stephen King). He believed that if he did, people would confuse it with a documentary on body building, a porno film or another Stephen King horror novel. It was changed to Stand By Me because while thinking of a title, it was considered to be the least unpopular name.
