Hush

Trivia: The movie was filmed in secret and revealed in 2015, when it was shopped around to distributors. Netflix acquired the movie and released it as a Netflix-exclusive title in 2016. However, it was removed from the service in 2023 once the initial licensing deal expired. Director Mike Flanagan has stated his intention to try and shop the film around for a physical media release on DVD/Blu-Ray in the near future.

Trivia: The Netflix series "Midnight Mass" is based on the book Maddie wrote in this film, making it an odd sort-of spin-off.

Trivia: Roughly 75% of the movie has no spoken dialogue whatsoever due to the main character being a deaf-mute, with the only occasional spoken dialogue coming from other characters.

Continuity mistake: Maddie kills the intruder with the corkscrew and then pushes him onto the floor to her left. A wide shot from above shows them lying side by side; Maddie's left hand is lightly touching the intruder's right elbow, but her hand is definitely not under his arm. Then the shot switches immediately to a closeup, and the intruder's arm is suddenly on top of Maddie's hand and wrist. You can see her pulling her arm out from beneath his. (01:14:00 - 01:15:00)

Question: How did the guy know Maddie couldn't access the neighbors' WiFi and call for help? Yes, it was password protected, but there was no way he could've known she didn't know the password. If I go round my friends, I have their WiFi password. If they come round mine, they have mine. It would make sense that at some point in time, the two neighbors would've shared their details with each other.

Answer: It was probably an assumption. I doubt most people know their neighbour's WiFi password. I don't know any of my neighbours' passwords, regardless of how well acquainted we are. That's different from friends who are visiting from some distance away from their home WiFi signal. Even if a neighbour is in your house with their own electronic device, they would still be close enough to their own Internet service to get a signal.
