Revealing mistake: When the passengers try to pull Henry out of the tunnel, they have putty on their feet. Sir Topham Hatt's hand is also purple.
Continuity mistake: The sign says: "Danger - engines must not pass this board." When Thomas passes it, "board" is replaced with "point."
Visible crew/equipment: As Henry crashes into the goods train, a crew member's hand can be seen pushing him, at the left side of the screen.
Visible crew/equipment: In the shot of Thomas rolling backwards onto the turntable, look left very carefully, and you'll see a camera tripod visible. Fullscreen version only.
Visible crew/equipment: When James crashes into the tar wagons, a crew member's finger can be seen pushing him.
Other mistake: In a close up of Bertie, he has no driver.
Visible crew/equipment: When Gordon, Thomas and the express round the bend, a camera tripod is visible on the left side of the screen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Thomas races through Elsbridge station, you can see a hand drop in and out of the shot on the top right.
Answer: Butch the breakdown truck must have pulled Gordon's tender all the way up the rails so the breakdown train can reach it and also Butch helped to get Gordon close to the winch.
