Character mistake: Hayley is on the phone in the car with Alex and she's holding her phone upside down.
Visible crew/equipment: When Manny holds up the Phantom mask to Jay's face and realises it's for the wrong side, as Manny rushes back upstairs for a lefty, the reflections of the Steadicam operator and crew are visible on the minivan's surface, beside Gloria. (00:14:40)
Visible crew/equipment: When Haley walks into the kitchen she tells Dylan they're over and hangs up on him. Then when Haley's cell rings, as the camera quickly pans around, the pink T-mark becomes visible on the floor behind Haley. (00:04:35)
Continuity mistake: Mitch and Cam are eating breakfast and Cam only fills Mitch's wine glass. As the camera view goes back and forth a few times it keeps switching to show Cam's glass full then empty and so on. (00:08:30 - 00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: Claire takes some cookies out of the oven and puts them on a cooling rack. When Manny asks her what the matter is with Claire, she holds still while she's about to put down the second cookie in the top row. When the camera cuts to a different angle there are suddenly three cookies in the row already. (00:12:05)
The Incident - S1-E4
Visible crew/equipment: At the start of the episode, Hayley and Luke begin fighting on the couch, and Hayley's filming equipment becomes visible. (01:14:00)
Continuity mistake: In episode 8-20: All Things Being Equal, while Lily is going to a feminist protest with Claire, Gloria, Haley, and Alex, Alex said something like 'The women burnt their bras', and Lily says 'Not me, I just got my first bra'. But in this episode Lily steals a bra because she's embarrassed to ask Mitchell and Cam to buy one for her.
Revealing mistake: While Phil and Claire are racing each other to Manny's birthday dinner, each car goes around corners, but the steering wheels are never turned.
Continuity mistake: When Cam is talking to Lily, the doorknob looks like it's loose, and in the next shot it is fixed. (00:19:49)
Visible crew/equipment: After Cam's really long drum moment, when it cuts to Gloria, Jay, and Manny entering their house, the reflections of the moving boom pole/mic and a crew member are visible on the window. (00:15:50)
Visible crew/equipment: When Manny gets done with the dentist Jay convinces him to go to the movies, and as they leave the office we can see the reflection of the boom pole/mic on the receptionist's glass window, at the top, left side of the screen. (00:01:40)
Visible crew/equipment: After Gloria and Andy's scene at the park, when it cuts to Pepper presenting his unique wedding ideas, in the first two shots facing Mitch and Cam, the yellow T-mark taped to the floor is visible at the bottom, left corner of the screen. (00:03:35)
Continuity mistake: Mitchell puts a sandwich down close to Cam on the kitchen island whilst talking to him. The sandwich then moves closer to Mitchell and a plastic food container is now moved to the other side near Cam instantaneously. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: When Claire comes in the kitchen a wine bottle with a blue/white label is standing up on the table. When Luke explains the effects of Jägermeister the same bottle is lying down on the table. In the next scene the bottle is standing upright again. (00:16:10)
Continuity mistake: Whilst Clare and her new 'best friend' are talking to the flight attendant, the two glasses change from empty to full in the next shot.
Other mistake: When Claire is sitting in first class, the woman she was sitting next to finished her drink while on her angry phone call and asks for more, but about a second later she is drinking it again and it is no longer empty.
Continuity mistake: Gloria speaks Spanish to Manny and he seems to understand it. But later, when his brother Joe was born, a tutor had to be hired because Manny didn't speak or understand Spanish.
Answer: Mitch is upset that his dad doesn't seem to support his getting married. When they talk about Jay's friends not coming to the wedding, Jay makes it seem like Mitch wouldn't want them to come anyways. Mitch sees it as it's actually that Jay doesn't want to invite his friends to his gay son's wedding because he's embarrassed and uncomfortable about having a gay son. Essentially Mitch sees it as if he was marrying a woman, Jay would be willing so spend money on the wedding, host it at the club, and invite all his friends to it.
