Continuity mistake: It is stated that Phil and Claire didn't have a wedding, and just went to the courthouse to get married, but in episode 1x08, Great Expectations, Phil says he's pretty sure he sang "If you leave" by O.M.D. at their wedding.
Continuity mistake: After the photographer asks Claire if they are still taking the picture Claire says no and puts mud on Gloria's belly. You see that its a round stain. Continuity mistake: The scene in which the whole family were mud-fighting. Just after the camera man says "Excuse me, are we still doing this" look at Manny's shirt. It just has a small mud stain on the pocket, but as the scene continues the stain looks different with no reason and there is suddenly mud on Manny's face too.
Continuity mistake: When Phil tries to get his bike down he falls over. A lot of stuff falls from the shelves behind him, when Claire asks if he is okay and Phil answers "Yes I am" you see that the shelves behind him are a mess. Other mistake: In the opening scene, the Dunphys are playing ball in their backyard when Claire knocks it into their crotchety old neighbour's yard. They all head in, and as Phil explains to Luke that it's because it's their only ball, another ball is in the grass visible over Luke's shoulder.
Continuity mistake: When Jay is talking with his brother and finds out about his brother's cancer, he is holding a glass of scotch with a tiny bit of ice. When his brother approaches him the glass now just has ice with no scotch. We don't see the glass for a short period before he is about to sit in his chair and spills the contents of the glass, which now has the scotch and ice again.
Visible crew/equipment: When Manny holds up the Phantom mask to Jay's face and realises it's for the wrong side, as Manny rushes back upstairs for a lefty, the reflections of the Steadicam operator and crew are visible on the minivan's surface, beside Gloria. (00:14:40)

Other mistake: When Cameron follows Mitchell into the sea, Cameron's shirt is visibly wet even though he is in a very shallow area of water. After cutting back to Cameron, the wet mark on his shirt has gotten bigger and traveled further up his shirt even though there are no significantly large waves that could have caused him to become so wet.
Continuity mistake: Mitchell places his glass trophy on the left side of the mantel. The award moves to the center of the mantel just a few seconds later.

Continuity mistake: When Claire is talking to Phil about having Cam's baby, she grabs a coffee cup out of the cabinet. In the next shot she grabs the same cup out of the cabinet again. (00:13:10)

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Claire catches Alex and Skyler about to shave each other's hair, Claire grabs the shaver and waves it around, and the shaver gets caught in Skyler's hair. The color of the hair caught in the shaver (black) is different from Skyler's hair color (very dark brown). It is quite close, but still significantly different. (00:11:50)
Continuity mistake: During the outdoor scene from Manny's surprise party, Phil is chomping away on corn on the cob like a madman. When he gets up, he wipes his mouth with his napkin while leaving some corn on his face. Claire jumps up and tells Phil that "they have a gardener", and the corn is still there. However, as he turns around with Claire by his side, the corn disappears. (00:23:00)
