Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Continuity mistake: After Shultz has been discredited, Klink is taking away the "badges of rank". When Klink goes to crush the monocle Shultz was wearing, he has his monocle on. After the shot cuts to a closeup of Shultz's monocle being crushed, and widens out, you see Klink's monocle is suddenly gone. It remains missing until Klink goes to the hat rack. The shot cuts from Klink, to Hogan and Shultz, then back, and the famous monocle is suddenly back, both without Klink stopping to take it off, or put it back on.

The Big Broadcast - S6-E12

Factual error: Hogan calls the radio detection truck "radar" when he orders the SS guard to switch it off. From other episodes, we know that Hogan knows what radar is, and back then, the difference between radio homing equipment and radar was even clearer to people than it is today, because radio homing was an established technology, while radar was brand new, and most people were not even aware it existed.

The Big Broadcast - S6-E12

Factual error: Baker picks up a lot of static in his radio, then suddenly signs off and says "Sounds like the radio detection unit picked up our signal." Unlike radar, radio signal homing relies entirely on measuring the signals emitted by the transmitter that is tracked. It works by comparing the strength of the signal arriving at each component of an array of directional antennae. The process is completely passive and does not cause any alteration of the signal measurable at either receiver or transmitter at all, and certainly not any audible interference or humming.

The Big Record - S6-E9

Audio problem: When the quartet plays, Klink's bow strokes don't match the music. That is all the stranger since Werner Klemperer was a proficient violinist. Maybe his playing wasn't bad enough on the stage recording?

The Kamikazes Are Coming - S6-E20

Revealing mistake: As the rocket blasts out of the recreation hall, the guide wires for the model are visible.

The Kamikazes Are Coming - S6-E20

That's No Lady, That's My Spy - S6-E17

Other mistake: The Kommandant's building and the barracks appear to be only twenty to twenty-five feet apart, showing that this scene of Roll Call is in the studio. Otherwise, the outdoor shots are at the studio back lot.

The Dropouts - S6-E14

Revealing mistake: In the close ups, Professor Bauer's spectacles do not have lenses.

It's Dynamite - S6-E10

Revealing mistake: As the truck passes Carter and Newkirk, it's easy to tell they're hiding behind tarp-covered boxes rather than the greenery or rocks around them.

Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Other mistake: As Schultz talks to Burkhalter, it sounds like he says Captain.

Klink's Masterpiece - S6-E3

Factual error: As the staff car comes up the street, there are a number of neon signs lit up, as well as store fronts. This is wrong as during the night in wartime Europe, such lighting would be dark to avoid night bombing.

The Meister Spy - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: Klink's name is still on his office door in one scene but suddenly changes to Privat with no one touching it.

That's No Lady, That's My Spy - S6-E17

Factual error: Hogan tells Carter that the bush he's camouflaging himself with is poison ivy. Poison ivy is not native to Germany, the very few wild plants that exist today descend from those introduced to botanical parks after 1942.

Add time

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Factual error: In this episode, LeBeau pretends to be a psychic gypsy to fool Klink. Gypsies generally didn't fare too well in the Third Reich. Admitting to being of Gypsy origin would probably have earned LeBeau a ride to the concentration camp.

The Big Broadcast - S6-E12

Other mistake: The place the car ends up on the porch is where the wooden steps would have been. But there is no debris from the destroyed steps, meaning they were removed for the gag.

Movie Nut

The Big Broadcast - S6-E12

Other mistake: As the camera looks at the now-crashed car, the position and condition it is in is impossible. Though funny, there is no way the car could have jumped up on the porch as shown. The front would have been crushed in, the wood of the porch damaged. The interiors of the doors are impossible given that the car would have been kept in an immaculate condition.

The Big Broadcast - S6-E12

Revealing mistake: As the camera looks at Schultz driving the car, even though he's moving in the seat, you can see through the back glass the car isn't moving at all.

The Experts - S6-E2

Character mistake: At the end, Klink goes to drive away, saying "Dismissed" to Schultz and Hogan. As he does, he salutes. This is wrong as Schultz should have saluted first.

Rockets or Romance - S6-E24

Plot hole: Hogan has his men play romantic music over the radio. Earlier they were afraid of the radio in the observation post being detected. Elsewhere in the series, they try to avoid sending too long to avoid being homed in on - which is correct. Now, if they were to play a whole record at once, wouldn't the homing devices pick up on the transmitter at the camp?

Operation Tiger - S6-E11

Revealing mistake: The film is flipped as the swastikas on the Gestapo uniforms of Hogan's men are reversed.

Klink's Masterpiece - S6-E3

Continuity mistake: As Hogan's telling Klink about the drawings, his left arm is extended. The next shot his arm is resting on the cigar box, then back to being extended and notice the pencil under the note pad. Next shot, arm is back on the box and pencil is gone.

The Kamikazes Are Coming - S6-E20

Continuity mistake: When Otto and the Russian go to leave there's another man with a blue hat by the door. When the angle changes, there's suddenly a German guard standing behind him.

Movie Nut

Easy Come, Easy Go - S6-E15

Factual error: Klink and Hogan sit behind each other in the P-51 they try to steal. The P-51 is a single-seat airplane, the only twin-seat P-51 are trainers. A trainer would not be at the flight line with the regular airplanes, and if a trainer would actually scramble with the others, it would at least arouse suspicion.

Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Continuity mistake: As Schultz is addressing the formation after taking command, his swagger stick switches from his right hand to under his left arm after the camera angle changes. Also, a minute later, Carter goes from being beside Newkirk to being in front of him and back again in a few seconds.

Movie Nut

The Dropouts - S6-E14

Other mistake: Baker goes to tap the rectangular spot to open the trapdoor, not only does he hit it once rather then twice, but it sticks in the pressed position. A moment later, Hogan hits it, but it stays in the pressed position rather than popping out. The sound of the pressing is played, but the button doesn't move.

Easy Come, Easy Go - S6-E15

Continuity mistake: Hogan and Klink are asking Schindler/Brewster about a diversion at the airfield. Brewster has both hands on the coffee cup until the angle change, when his left hand is suddenly out of his pocket.

That's No Lady, That's My Spy - S6-E17

Revealing mistake: When the men are in ranks for roll call, it's snowing heavily. Given the pitch of the barracks' roofs, there shouldn't be any snow sticking. Therefore, if looked at closely, it can be seen that the "snow" on the roofs is painted in place.

Movie Nut

Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Revealing mistake: As the scene opens, the camera starts on a shot of the guard tower's roof. As it pans left and down into the yard, over the hill on the left side of the shot you can see a modern crane structure and the corner of a building in the distance.

Movie Nut

Klink's Masterpiece - S6-E3

Other mistake: When the boys are working on the "jigsaw" map, Klink and the guard come in. There is a gust of wind from their entrance. Trouble is, the gust that blows the pieces comes from behind LeBeau, blowing the pieces toward Newkirk's bunk, rather than toward the camera.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Meister Spy - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: When Hogan and Klink are getting ready to take off, they are on a regular paved runway. In the wide shot of the plane, it's going down and taking off from a dirt runway.

Movie Nut

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Other mistake: When Carter goes to switch the full cup for the empty one, he accidentally sloshes water on Newkirk's hand and the fan of cards in it. When Carter goes to move the cups, look at Newkirk's hand. The cup exchange happens in front of the hand. The hand is out of range of the water.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Audio problem: When Hogan is taking pictures of Shultz in front of the halt-track (really, getting shots of the control panel), in the second photo, the shot is shown as if it's Hogan looking through the camera. He starts on Shultz's face, but pans down and to the right to get the control panel. Just as the view gets on the panel, you hear the shutter click, just before the camera fully settles on the panel.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Revealing mistake: When the guys are by the half-track keeping Shultz busy, if you look just above and to the left of Shultz's head, you see some tall fencing at the top of the hill in the distance. From the set up, if appears to be a baseball field outside of the studio property.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Revealing mistake: When the men are in the yard during their exercise period playing football, there is a wide shot of the yard. The half-track is to the left of the screen with Shultz next to it. If you look above the barracks, the Desilu water tower and a large metal building, possibly a studio building, can be seen.

Add time

Movie Nut

Kommandant Schultz - S6-E7

Continuity mistake: After Burkhalter relieves Shultz of command, and Klink is reinstated, Klink sits behind the desk. On the blotter is a letter opener that Burkhalter was toying with, and a black covered notebook. After sitting, Klink reaches in his jacket pocket, pulls out the same notebook, and reads from it. The shot cuts to Shultz and back, and the book Klink read from is gone, (presumably back in the pocket) and the one on the desk is gone.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Gypsy - S6-E13

Other mistake: In the end of the episode, after LeBeau said "Hit the deck!", the camera looks to the half-track. According to the plan, there was to be a nitro charge inside it to blow it up. Watch the tarp toward the front. It twitches upward in response to a small explosion on the ground, rather than inside. The sound effects complete the illusion.

Add time

Movie Nut

Easy Come, Easy Go - S6-E15

Continuity mistake: When Klink and Hogan are looking at the Mustangs, Hogan has just sipped his coffee and holding the mug at chest level, at the top button of his coat. When the shot changes, he's holding it waist high. Also, the flight line full of planes is a grainy black-and-white projection super imposed in the shot of the window.

Add time

Movie Nut

The Dropouts - S6-E14

Visible crew/equipment: When Major Hochstetter's car arrives at Stalag 13, it drives towards the camera. The shadow of a crewman's hand raised to stop the car is visible on the ground.
