Continuity mistake: General Burkhalter is eating Klink's dinner. When finished he places a metal cover over the plate. In the next shot the cover is lying on the table and there is extra food on the plate. (00:15:25)

Continuity mistake: While Carter and Klink's secretary are conversing, the waste basket Carter holds switches positions from up to down and back again.

Continuity mistake: The footage of the bomber's nomenclature Hogan and his men commandeer switches several times from during the takeoff, the bombing run, then the end of the bombing run - three different types of planes.
Continuity mistake: Hogan and company use red painted gold bricks to replace the wooden stairs that they sabotaged. The steps after this episode should have been brick, but they went back to being wooden.
How to Catch a Papa Bear - S4-E3
Continuity mistake: When LeBeau comes out of Hogan's quarters after feeding Newkirk chicken soup, he is holding a bowl with a spoon in his right hand. As he talks back and forth with Hogan and Schultz, the spoon jumps from in front of his thumb to behind it.
Praise the Fuhrer and Pass the Ammunition - S2-E19
Continuity mistake: Klink was sitting in his chair as Hogan is guessing his age. Klink's hands are clasped in front of him, and a second later, his right hand is on his hip.
Continuity mistake: Sgt. Schultz' serial number changes in every episode.
Reservations Are Required - S1-E15
Continuity mistake: Hogan dumps a bucket of water on Barnes and Davis each, to make it look like they were the ones who hid in the tanker. They get big wet patches on their uniforms from it, but aren't completely wet through and through - which is to be expected, after all it's just a small bucket of water each. After the next cut however, they are completely soaked like they went swimming.
Continuity mistake: When the man and woman from the underground meet Hogan at the Hoffbrau, they're taking off their outer coats. The man takes off a dark brown coat and drops it. Hogan picks it up, hands it to the guy who hangs it up. The man removes his dark brown overcoat revealing a tan coat. The next shot, he"s taking off the dark brown coat again, hangs it up and goes for beer.
The Safecracker Suite - S1-E27
Continuity mistake: As Günther leaves the room, Klink touches his forehead and begins to sit down (or his knees are buckling, not relevant). After the next cut, he sinks down into a chair in a closeup. That same chair was behind Hogan before the cut.
Continuity mistake: From time to time, Hogan's patch (reading COL. R. E. HOGAN) alternates from the lettering being faded, to the lettering being vibrant with the patch looking new.
Axis Annie - S3-E23
Continuity mistake: As Newkirk is talking to Axis Annie, his arms are crossed. They are uncrossed a second later without moving.
Continuity mistake: When Klink sits down with Marlene, her hands alternate between being on his face to behind his neck and back between shots.
The Top Secret Top Coat - S2-E29
Continuity mistake: When Hogan and company are getting ready to listen to the sock from "Aunt Alice" they plug the coffee pot up to their recorder. As they do so, the light that indicates power is lit up, but then Lebeau plugs in the power cord.
Continuity mistake: After Shultz has been discredited, Klink is taking away the "badges of rank". When Klink goes to crush the monocle Shultz was wearing, he has his monocle on. After the shot cuts to a closeup of Shultz's monocle being crushed, and widens out, you see Klink's monocle is suddenly gone. It remains missing until Klink goes to the hat rack. The shot cuts from Klink, to Hogan and Shultz, then back, and the famous monocle is suddenly back, both without Klink stopping to take it off, or put it back on.
Continuity mistake: After the prisoners have loaded the truck, they stand around and the tailgate of the truck is down. Major Hochstetter arrives and we see the tailgate is raised. Next scene it is again in the lowered position. (00:17:40)
Continuity mistake: When the staff car is approaching the fallen tree it has white staff flags, but when it stops at the tree it has the red swastika Nazi party flags. (00:12:00)
Everybody Loves a Snowman - S3-E14
Continuity mistake: Carter and Newkirk have just taken the escapees down the tree trunk to the tunnels. When they go to open it, they clear off the snow to open it. When the shot goes to a German soldier that was chasing them, the phony stump is suddenly covered over again. It would still have been visible, having just been exposed.
Continuity mistake: As Schultz marches in with the Kraut platoon, he reports to Klink. As he goes to stand at attention and report, the new tunnel section he's over collapses, and he completely disappears into the hole. The camera goes to a close up on Klink, then back to the hole, and you see Schultz standing in the hole and it's only chest deep.
Continuity mistake: Notice the jacket that Carter always wears. It always appears worn with age and use. This episode, it appears almost new.
Answer: It's a comedy, not a documentary.
