9 mistakes in season 8 - chronological order

(13 votes)

The Junior Professor Solution - S8-E2

Character mistake: When Howard is asking Sheldon engineering questions, the first question is "How do you quantify the strength of materials?" Sheldon answers "Young's Modulus," and Howard admits that is correct. But it's not correct - Young's Modulus quantifies a material's elasticity, not strength. (00:17:10)

The Septum Deviation - S8-E9

Continuity mistake: In this episode Leonard has a snoring problem (a result of a deviated septum, which in all probability he was born with, plus Amy says Sheldon has always complained about Leonard's snoring, and Sheldon says after 5 or 6 years he's gotten use to Leonard's snoring), but in episode 14 of season 3 when Sheldon brings up snoring Penny says, "Leonard doesn't snore." And in episode 8 of season 6, Sheldon lists not snoring as one of Leonard's positive traits.

The Clean Room Infiltration - S8-E11

Other mistake: When Howard, Leonard, and Raj are arguing in the clean room, Howard says that Leonard is jealous because Howard and Leonard used to be "best friends until Koothrapali came along." Yet, in the earlier seasons, we know that Howard and Raj already knew each other when Leonard met them for the first time and brought them back to the apartment to play video games. Meaning they couldn't have been best friends before Raj came along.

The Extract Obliteration - S6-E6

Stephen Hawking: Do you like brain teasers?
Sheldon Cooper: Oh, I love brain teasers.
Stephen Hawking: What do Sheldon Cooper and a black hole have in common? They both suck. Neener, neener.

Show generally

Question: How come Raj has no problem speaking to his mother, but, when around other women, such as Penny, he immediately stops talking? Also, why does he have to whisper in someone's ear if he wants to ask Penny something?

Answer: Because Raj's selective mutism seems to be caused by women that Raj sees (on some sort of conscious or subconscious level) as a potential sexual partner. An attribute that wouldn't apply to either his sister or mother.
