Spokes - S4-E2

Audio problem: When Buck orders the would-be killers out of the hotel room, his lips don't move in sync with the words he speaks.

Jean G

A Matter of Survival - S4-E5

Revealing mistake: The doll standing in for Baby Joey is visible in one shot of Victoria carrying the child on horseback. The blanket slips, leaving the doll's stiff neck, plastic head and shock of sticking-straight-up nylon hair all in plain view. (00:10:15)

Only the Bad Come to Sonora - S4-E3

Plot hole: Manolito trades clothes with the poor peon he meets on the road. But at the end of the episode, he has the same clothes that he gave away earlier (his usual outfit) back on again.

Jean G

The New Lion of Sonora - S4-E14

Factual error: In the 1870s, poker chips were made of wood and either branded or painted with denominational values. But the brightly colored chips on General Casados' table in this episode are very obviously made of plastic. (00:38:30)

Jean G

Sangre - S4-E15

Visible crew/equipment: When Sangre attacks the soldier and the man's rifle falls during the fight, the shot cuts to a close-up of the gun - and we can see several white blocking marks chalked on the floor beside it. (00:33:50)

Only the Bad Come to Sonora - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: The number of outlaws in the gang mysteriously increases during one chase scene. For most of the episode, there are only three of them. When they gallop off after Manolito, there are suddenly five. Next scene, there are three again. (00:20:35)

Jean G

Sangre - S4-E15

Continuity mistake: The blood stain on Sangre's clothing disappears when Manolito borrows the outfit as a disguise. It reappears at the end just in time for Sangre to put the clothes back on again. (00:39:20)

Jean G

Sangre - S4-E15

Plot hole: The scriptwriter here apparently never saw earlier episodes in which it was well-established that Manolito spoke fluent Apache. In a scene where he attempts to sneak past two braves while disguised as an Apache, he suddenly can't speak the language when they challenge him.

Only the Bad Come to Sonora - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: One of the bad guys rides the stolen black stallion throughout the episode - except when the gang rides away from the cantina. Then, all their horses are brown. Once they're out in the desert, the black horse reappears. (00:23:25)

Jean G

The New Lion of Sonora - S4-E14

Continuity mistake: When Buck tries to comfort a bereft Manolito, Mano is sobbing and leaning his forehead against a tree trunk. But when the shot reverses angles, he's abruptly standing upright a foot away from the tree. (00:14:10)

Jean G

The Badge - S4-E13

Plot hole: This episode comprises a flashback to the year 1866, but it sets up a chronology that completely contradicts the rest or the series. It contends that the Cannons moved west to Arizona in 1867. In the pilot and throughout the series, it was stated that they arrived in Arizona in the 1870s, at least ten years after the U.S. Civil War.

Jean G

Billy Blue Cannon: I need all the rest I can get, Uncle Buck.
Buck Cannon: When I was your age, Blue, the word 'rest' hadn't been invented.

The Buffalo Soldiers - S2-E10

Trivia: The all-black 10th Cavalry mounted troop is portrayed here by a re-creationist group that has trained itself in specialized 19th Century cavalry riding maneuvers. The group includes some descendants of the original "Buffalo Soldiers," whose nickname was coined by Native Americans that had never seen black men, and thought the soldiers' hair resembled that of the buffalo.
